1) I took 4 hangers, a piece of plywood and made myself a coffee table. The result is beyond praise.
I decided to implement my plan using improvised materials.
I really like tables made from Euro pallets. They look very original. Here you just cut boards of the required size and knock them down again.
I decided to make my table from ordinary wooden clothes hangers and pieces of plywood.
Hangers will perfectly replace legs.
The job is made easier by the fact that they are already painted white. Of course, you can repaint them any other color. But white suits me quite well.
At first I wanted to remove the steel holders, but then I changed my mind and left them as a decorative element.
The dimensions of the tabletops are 32x42 cm, and the height is 43 cm. Ideal for proximity to a chair.
How to do:
- First you need to drill holes in the hangers with a wood drill. This must be done carefully so that the wood does not burst.
- Sand the plywood with sandpaper.
- Screw the screws in these places and connect everything together.
- The most important thing is to do all this evenly and at the same distance, so that there are no distortions and the table does not wobble.
Finally, I painted the plywood with a walnut-colored stain. After drying, I rubbed the surface with colorless furniture wax.
This table can be painted in any color, even several colors can be used. For example, make stripes.
This is how, without sketches or drawings, you get an excellent piece of furniture with your own hands.

2) I'm tired of the old TV just gathering dust in the shed. I show you what a stylish thing I made from it.
According to the idea, it should be a bookcase on legs, I don’t know what to call this work more precisely. There are practically no costs, everything is in the barn.
Stages of my work:
- Paint the inside of the TV with white paint.
- Saw two boards, 73 cm long, into legs.
- Saw them diagonally.
- Prepare a board for the shelf.
- Sand these wooden parts with sandpaper.
- Screw the corners for the shelf at such a height that the books will fit.
- Screw the legs at a height of 20 cm in this way.
I really liked the result. All that remains is to decide what color to paint the legs and shelf. White, brown or black. It was a problem, I was afraid of ruining it.
After my hesitation I settled on brown. I painted them with walnut stain.
At first I didn’t want to make the back wall, since I didn’t have a piece of plywood for this. But then I remembered that there was cardboard in the back of the Ikea cabinets and did the same for myself.
- I cut out cardboard for the bottom. Two slats helped to avoid its sagging.
- To breathe freshness and novelty into this shelf, I covered the cardboard parts with wallpaper left over from the renovation of the corridor.
- I nailed the back wall with nails with a head.
Everything is finished, now I’m thinking about what to fill it with.
It turned out to be a wonderful thing. Although TV has gone out of style, it looks different now.
With its new look, it reminded me of my childhood, when my parents bought a black and white TV with legs. This shelf looks so much like him.
I don’t know why, but old things give off warmth. Probably because they carry the history of the family and help preserve tender moments that you don’t want to forget.
3) The strawberry boxes were thrown away at the market, and I picked them up. I'll show you why I needed them.
Wooden boxes are good raw materials for making various household items. It's economical, free, accessible and original.
How they did it:
- First we prepared 4 planks. The boxes will be attached to them. The length of the sticks depends on the distance between the drawer shelves. Mine are 1.38 cm.
- Marked 5 cm for the legs with a pencil.
- The boxes were placed in a row and 2 strips were screwed on one side onto the bottom drawer and the top one, then they were turned over, and they were also fastened with screws on the other side.
- Now we have screwed the drawers inside the shelf. The distance between them is the same.
It turned out to be an excellent strong rack for the household.
These boxes are so beautiful, elegant, one might say, positive, that they should be painted only with the bright colors of the rainbow.
This is what happened. The construction is strong and reliable.
Crates like these deserve a second chance after strawberries. They can be used in different ways both outside and inside the house.
