This is a devlog (DEVLOG) that's also a Video essay about lasers or LASERS CHALLENGE similar to mr beast or MR BEAST last video. The game is about black holes and is a Movement Shooter like Karlson or KARLSON (by dani). It's made in unity, like among us (AMONG US) and has been in development for 6 MONTHS. It is first person like minecraft (MINECRAFT).

That thing with the floating point comma/dot usage just triggered my PTSD. Having localization be turned on by default for stuff like float-to-string is one of the worst decisions in the C# standard libraries. All of their libraries are chock-full of crap like this where it works on your own machine, and then some environment variables change and it suddenly does a completely different thing. It's annoying as hell. I want my code to do the same thing, unless I explicitly specify that it needs to do different things! What kind of a shitty default is it to have different behavior on different machines?! AAAAAAAAH

Using the localized number formatter for save games is a classic! Everyone gets burned by that one, once :-)

This game is so fun! I recently discovered a fun glitch I like to call wall chaining. If you keep your camera at the right angle while wall jumping, you gain height while still staying on the wall. It's a little buggy, but I'd love it if it could be kept. It's really useful when doing a no black holes run, in fact I'm pretty sure it requires them.

The crazy thing about releasing a game to the public is that suddenly you have a bunch of people basically doing QA for free. Actually the opposite of free because they paid you to do it.

Hey, game dev here. Imma have to say that Ive been watching your videos and felt the struggles you went through. Initially as your first steam game it’s either going to be unpredictable or dissappointing depending on how you set your milestone in your financial status. Basically what im trying to say is most games get a couple of bucks before dropping down. I’ve released my first game 1-2 years ago and pretty much was surprised I’d get some amount of money but it was still little. To someone like you i expect the best outcome! And as always keep up the good work!

To be honest, the game is kind of boring. It lacked game juice; there was no story, therefore no goal. You could just add some text between levels that say some wholesome words. I feel like you could easily make the game super fun if you did these things! Take care.

Solid feedback, but this is their first commercial game, and the best way to improve is to just look at other games, and make more of your own. Over time you learn what is needed to make a fun, and well designed game.
