"I don't know why people always say passive mobs don't despawn when they do" A chicken from a chicken jockey is not a passive mob. It is a separate entity from a chicken and is considered a hostile mob. It also wont lay eggs. You have to breed it with another chicken or jockey chicken and the babies will be normal chickens.

Not quite true. It's the same entity as a normal chicken, but its entity data is modified by the fact that it spawns as part of the zombie. Also, it is a passive mob still in terms of its data, but the despawn mechanic is separate from the passive mob entity type.

Fun fact: the 1.17 wandering trader sells rooted dirt which can be converted into normal dirt with a hoe/shovel and then be multiplied with the gravel feature.

You can use those red blocks from the nether trees in composters to make bonemeal! You can even make it more efficient by putting a hopper on top of it to feed into the composter, and another below it to take the bonemeal out!

FYI everyone's right about passive mobs not despawning, it's just that chicken jockey chickens are technically considered "hostile" (also they don't lay eggs, it's kinda weird)
