Not to undermine this girl's story or anything, because it's pretty cool I guess, but was she really the best person they could find to share their experience on this? She doesn't remember pretty much any details that someone curious about this would actually want to know (ie. what it feels like). I was kinda expecting more specifics when I clicked this video, not gonna lie.

I was hit by lightning when I was 11 bringing my horse out of the pasture, it literally blew me out of my boots. My marks are on the back if my shoulder (now covered by a tattoo) and the sole of my left foot.

My boss was actually struck by lightning twice on two separate occasions! He’s perfectly fine, he just lost some of his hearing.

I don’t know if this is similar but I was electrocuted by exposed wires in my house when I was about 6 and it felt like being cooked inside out. Like a hotdog in a microwave. It hurt so badly and all I could feel was like fire inside, and I immediately started crying. It didn’t affect my health and I was pretty much fine after it, it just really hurt lol 😂.

I wasn’t directly struck, but I was walking into Walmart with my dad and brother and lightning struck somewhere behind the building and we all felt the shock. My legs from the knee down were tingly for hours and they hurt for days. It was more scary than anything, and I’ll always wonder if the electricity actually reached us because I was the only one who felt anything. I think I could have just tensed up my muscles and that caused the pain. Idk. My grandad survived a strike though when my dad was a little boy!

I really like these segments. Felt a bit drawn out but I think having real people tell their stories and how those experiences have affected and shaped them is a fantastic pairing with the main show that just focuses on the cold facts and makes jokes to lighten the mood. The videos in between the main show rarely caught my interest before but these are great.

Once lightning struck at me just as a photo was being taken and you could see the lightning take a sharp turn just a few meters above my head and then struck some fencing like 10 meters to the side of me. Electricity is really weird. I've always been able to sense incoming thunderstorms and i think maybe part of my body is utilising the ground charge and it kinda made the electricity seek another route. I've also noticed that my digital wrist watch can go faster or slower compared to other clocks depending on my mood so i might be emitting some sort of static charge since it has a metal plate underneath. i've also found that phones that use magnetic chargers seem to have longer battery life when they are kept on my person and street lamps flicker as i go past them as long as they are the metal kind and have the modern led lights instead of filaments. i've also been shocked many times by light switches and power outlets and sometimes if i'm stressed and touch a friend of mine specirfically one that hasn't been around me or wheere i've been for a while they can get a static shock strong enough to make them fall to the ground.

I was electrocuted over the summer. I was transferring wet towels from my washer to my dryer which are in our unfinished basement. So the lighting is a plug in lamp that clips on the ceiling. I accidentally pulled it down and then dropped the towels on top of it on top of the dryer. Without thinking I went to pick it up, still plugged in, still with wet towels laying on top. The electricity went through my right hand, up my arm, down my body and out my foot. I don’t remember it being any more painful than shocking yourself on a wall plug. But it was just a really uncomfortable feeling and my body went into this weird shock where my heart was fluttering and my body was shaking like I was cold. It was such a weird feeling.

I would have been pretty mad about this situation. She didn't even get superpowers! She could've been the real life Flash

I was 15. Florida storm hit our camper. I was directly struck by lightning the other people said. I thought it hit just in front of me. It made me numb, or something like that for about a month. I guess it sorta hurt. It was kinda like being shocked by 110 volts, but much much stronger. I wasn’t the same for more than a month. I still remember it just as, if it was yesterday. That was quite a few years ago now.

One time I was indirectly struck by lightning. It hit an open light socket outside and went into an outlet inside, shooting the outlet out of the wall and centimeters from my face. The current continued to the next outlet, where I was playing a GameCube game. The lightning went through the outlet, into the console, through the controller, and onto my hands. I’m really mad I didn’t get video game superpowers or anything. Lame.

From what she describes it sounds like a bolt from the blue. Those types of lightning strikes can occur up to 10 miles from the cloud it came from and most if those strikes are positive lightning which can be up to ten times more powerful than normal lightning.

I was struck by lightning when i was 7 (i'm 21 now) on my foot and the best way i could describe it is it felt like my entire foot was on fire and that feeling ran all the way up my leg and then after that whole area just felt extremely hot. I immediately starting crying as well and was an extremely emotional experience for everyone there. My aunt who was pregnant at the time also got struck on the arm and luckily we both ended up okay

Towards the end of the year of 2020: I survived the Yellowstone Eruption.

At my summer camp they are always very strict about lightning warnings and making sure we were indoors if lightning is in the area because the directors son and the handy man around the camp has been struck by lightning 3 times. Once in the water another on the roof of the office and another in a tree. He only was only able to survive because the lightning never struck him directly. And a fun fact once ur struck by lightning once the chance of you getting struck again increases.
