Fight or flight..and the guy chose to fight the only way he could by helping others to safety. A freakin' hero IMO.

This must be the most unlucky family. She had a heart condition, her brother had cancer and she and her sister both were in a mass shooting. But at the same time they must be the luckiest family for surviving all this. I hope their luck lasts forever!

The staff was still helping even though he wouldve died. He still stayed to direct the people to the right exit. If he weren't there, not a lot of people wouldve known the exit. Such a hero.

my elementary school played a game called „gravity attack.“ a teacher would yell „gravity attack“ and we would all down on the ground as of the gravity pulled us down there. it was their innocent way of teaching us how to protect ourselves from guns. i hate that our schools have to do this. i hate it.

People need to stop being so insensitive and rude. This lady and her sister went through something traumatic and nearly died, but you 'don't care' and 'just want Ryan and Shane'. It's cruel and just disgusting of you to say that what she went through isn't important enough for you to listen to. Give her some respect.

my teacher’s best friend was one of the many shot and killed in this. i remember how tired she looked and at the end of the day (we had her last period) she was trying her best to hold back tears. we had never seen our teacher so vulnerable and distressed. she finally broke down when the entire class got up and hugged her in one big group hug. it just reminds us all that you’ll lose someone eventually, and it’s going to hurt. but at least there’s someone there that will comfort you.

my cousin did too, and she had found out she was pregnant days before the concert so her baby is considered the youngest survivor of the shooting. now she’s 18 months old. someone interviewed her about it actually.

People forget this is a true crime channel also. This event was a crime.

One of my best friends brother and his girlfriend were at this festival, he made himself a human shield to protect people as they were trying to get out he was shot in the leg as he wash protecting other people, his girlfriend was shot in the head and passed away after he tried his best to protect her from this horrible incident, may she rest in peace, and I am greatly humbled by his nobility to protect others at the cost of risking his life, while he made it out alive many many people died including his girlfriend

The secretary at my High School was unfortunately one of the victims at this shooting. In her memory, we named the road that leads to our school after her.

I can't imagine the guilt her parents must have felt. They gave her and her sister the tickets as a gift and the concert ends up being one of the worst mass shootings. No one should ever have to go through that.

I was in a 4 hour lockdown at my university and I remember when it started people were running and screaming that there’s a shooter outside. For hours no one knew what was happening, rumors were flying, people were calling their parents and crying. No shots were fired that day but it was still terrifying. I remember thinking “oh my god we’re next. We’re the next shooting” and seeing something like this reminds me of how lucky I am when so many people haven’t been. I could not imagine the terror of a real shooting.

I will never forget loosing my sister she was 2 years old and got shot in the head.

My sister almost went to this concert... I thank God that she didn’t.

I’m a nurse and I had the privilege of taking care of a survivor of this shooting. The stories she told me were horrific. I couldn’t imagine experiencing something like this and having to deal with the trauma afterwards.

I’m crying. My dear friend Andrea Castilla was there and sadly she was hit and passed away. This video is the only video from the shooting that I have been able to watch. I’m so happy that you and your sister stayed safe! It hurts to know what you’ve been through and what my sweet Andrea went through.

I live in Vegas and I was there. Scariest moment of my life. Someone next to me got shot and I could do nothing but scream and keep down.

A friend’s daughter was shot in the head at that festival. She survived, but it has been a long and hard road for her and the family.

My school was on break the week before the concert and we flew into Las Vegas and we drove around the west cost. Then for the last two days we stayed in the Mandaly bay hotel and from our hotel room we could see them setting up the concert and my dad said, “that looks fun, I wish we could stay another week and go.” 😨

My ex fiancee was going to go work and I told him to stay home cause I had a bad feeling. Thank God he stayed ❤️ a bunch of our friends worked the event and one of our friends had her own business and that's all gone because of the ptsd

There was a shooter at my college, I’m an EMT and a nursing student. I called my dad and he was on the phone begging me to not leave my classroom no matter who was hurt. My teammate was next to me saying the same thing. Luckily there were no deaths and there was no injuries anywhere near me so I didn’t have to make the decision to go or stay. God bless those that helped, god bless those people there.

I think these segments are really human you know? Its easy to do these mysterious and quirky true crime episodes but the down low is that the foundation of true crime tends to be painful and traumatic. It’s a good reminder that true crime isn’t fictional and how we should approach these topics so that we can inform others while still being respectful towards those who are victimized by these acts.

I can’t imagine if my daughter called me saying she was in a mass shooting. I would be in shear panic that I could lose my baby at any moment. I couldn’t even begin to imagine the guilt I would feel that I have my daughter that concert ticket either 😔 I’m so happy that you made it out and in one piece ❤️❤️❤️

I think this is probably one of the hardest videos I’ve ever heard to watch. You’re an amazing person, your sister is amazing, you are so strong. I remember this. I live in Vegas and it was the y’all of the school. My teacher said he was going to miss Monday. He came back Tuesday and explained that he was part of the shooting and was willing to explain. My heart dropped at that moment. His daughter was supposed to go to that but he didn’t want her to come because of school and he was so grateful he didn’t let her go. I was so fortunate to keep that teacher. He was favorite and so kind.

This is heartbreaking. And the fact that she has Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome made this hit me even harder than it would have otherwise, because I have that too. So I know what kind of physical pain she would have been in while trying to run. It probably felt like having a heart attack, and she must have been so dizzy and close to fainting. Her strength in keeping going is truly amazing.

My mom was in Vegas that night. She never gets to go on vacations, but she was there. She had planned on going to get a T-shirt for my sister from that concert but she and my stepdad went to their hotel, and that’s when everything happened. Thankful is an understatement.

10 to 12 minutes? That's already a long time if you're just waiting for something. I can't imagine 12 minutes of being shot at. That had to feel like an entire day.

I remember this. Hearing about 40 police cars rush by me. Hearing the EMT’s say that they didn’t have enough ambulances to take people to the hospital. Hearing the “fireworks” go off. Hearing that people still won’t vote for gun restraints

As this gentle lovely woman was relating her experience, more and more I was expecting and dreading her saying her sister did not make it, especially as she was not there beside her in front of the camera. - I'm so glad she did! That they both survived! Though too many did not.

Omg! This girl has POTS and was running and panicking for maybe a half hour. How did her heart not just give out or her feint? Blessings to her, her sister, her family, and all the survivors as well as those who’s lives were lost. 🕯

how did she not cry I cried half way through and this isn’t my story,,,,

I decided to go to a d&d session rather than meet a friend from out of town at the festival. I was less than a mile away... I return to work to my manager at his desk, an open bottle of whiskey in hand, and he looked up to me and in the most broken voice said, "I have to explain to my 6 year old that his little league coach and my best friend had his head blown off." My friend was one of the people who went back in during the firing to drag people back out. My friend who invited me was nearly trampled on the sidewalk. This event changed the lives of every single one of us.... Edit: Thank you all so much for the kind words and well wishes. I was lucky to just have stories. My friends were the ones who still suffer every day from what they saw, and I really appreciate the empathy.
