This is like space satisfactory except you don't feel like you're having a panic attack every second! 🙃

This game is a diamond in the rough. The space raft, auto harvesting asteroids, and belt based automation all run pretty smoothly. Once you get to attempting to use robots the gameplay tanks hard because of their wonky pathing and general AI. In order to get the robot mines to work they HAVE to be built on the planetoid you intend to mine. You cannot build a bunch of mines on your station and then dock to unleash a fleet of miners. Even if you build the robot mines on the planetoid they half the time won't mine the resource you selected. There also seems to be a calculation bubble around the player in which the game operates at normal speed and then anything outside the bubble operates slower. I'll set up multiple direct mines across a planetoid and watch them gather a boat load of materials when i'm nearby, but when I go back to my station to upgrade systems and expand and come back they've barely gathered anything at all or have stopped gathering even if there is still resource. The game is fun, but needs a lot of work. Minor gripe, but the fact that the tutorial bot constantly turns itself back on while basically telling you nothing useful is basically just trolling.

16:59 Id like to say filter next to splitter doesn't work as you may expect and actually affects splitter. Splitter attempts to push item into filter and counts that as a split in that direction no matter did that item got pushed or went into different direction. And this whole process may cause a tiny hiccup, so item going through slower. Splitter on a sushi belt is already a trouble, but splitter with filters and blockers on a sushi belt is a disaster waiting to happen. When you want to keep the split right better push item you want to split off the belt and split it either back on the belt or anywhere else. Or try to avoid splitting sushi.

Damn you, Kibitz! Now I'm going to have to buy this game..

I've been really really enjoying this game even with its jank. All these games are like that during their early releases so I don't really mind. We all know how Satisfactory used to be.

you can build pipes and wiring directly through floors too. later on you can have vertical conveyors too

@ImKibitz 00:11:09 You can ROTATE most items after they have been placed. You can see the white hologram, with a direction arrow, indicating which way the belt is going. You don't need a pusher to push things into the smelter. * Cursor over an item, so that you see the white outline hologram, and then push your rotation key. * You can put the ice pusher right in front of the smelter, so only ores go in, if you want it a bit neater.

@ImKibitz you dont need power on planetoids captured with harpoon. it transfers power so if you use the connector on the planetoid it will power your miners from the raft.. also looking at something and hitting U will upgrade to the highest tier unlocked. like your first catcher for instance...also selecting and hitting U works for like belts later in the game... ..... One last thing wire will go thru floor tiles, but not foundations.. I made a grid and put my floor on top of it it allows for placement anywhere and a quick connect...

you can press 'u' to upgrade an existing machine or BELT. also a good idea to have a separate power network for you oxygen bubble. just a single solar panel and the bubble genny does the trick. that way accidentally running out of Coal (unless you have that automated then nvm) doesn't waste a bunch of oxygen. also.. if you see a black hole, jump into it.. it's fun

The "Astro" in the title isn't an abbreviation of the word Asteroid, it's Ancient Greek for "star" and it's used as a prefix for things related to Space. As in "Astronaut" Astro: Star / Naut: Sailor

I'm on this game since Alpha, dunno if that is still the case, but it used to be very efficient to just spam solar panels for power. Since structural integrity and physics are not a thing, you can put shitload of those somewhere they don't interfere.

To make life easier you can delete floor tiles and run all the wires pipes under the floor then just bring them up where you need them

The game looks really guuuuuud and fun. Not a huge fan of the conveyer belt system used i can already see the spaguetti problem it gonna cause if u place them too close together but yeah. Daaammit gonna have to buy it
