As a kid who was born in June 1, 2009 Mr. Bean was the happiest part of my childhood (technically I am still in my childhood but just go with it). I used to watch Mr. Bean with my sister, mom, dad and aunt and we would all laugh while watching it even if we had seen that episode a million times. Now I moved to Texas and have introduced Me. Bean to my friends and cousins and they all love him. He is truly a legend.

My late sister, Karyn, loved his work, and had recommended him to me, which I had all but forgotten. In honesty, I used to tend to dislike characters who "pull faces," because it ends up distracting from their real talent, with them becoming typecast for their gesticulations, rather than their talent, where roles have diminishing value, basing their laughs on the actor looking silly (Jim Carey, for instance), but everything I've seen Atkinson in has been great. Coincidentally, just this morning, while watching a BBC Hugh Lorie retrospective, for the first time, I got to see Rowan in "Black Adder," and now, here, I get a fuller picture of him. Thank you for this. He's the kind of guy who, as a kid, I would have sought out as a friend, recognising in him another victim of being atypical. Now, I want to see more. While Hugh was only funny if the script was good, and was often boring, Rowan seemed able to elevate even the most meagre openings. Hugh often needed a challenge. Rowan created challenges to which others could rise.
