I have a afghan tortoise and when ever I rib the top of her head she gets her head all the way out of her shell and she lets my rub her head and chin, she also likes it when a rub her shell, tortoises are the few reptiles that can somewhat show affection, alongside soem lizards, tortoises also have their own interests, I have a tortoise that likes to walk and another that likes to climb and is a bit of a dare devil 😈

But yeah, most tortoises just leave a painful bite mark on your finger. Snapping turtles, though? They could, they very much could. And if they don't, they're not letting go of it anytime soon. Stubborn and feisty, those little critters are.
