Thanks😗! It kind of work but the result in blender was a bit off. 🎥I had to check my camera parameters in after effect and apply them to my Blender camera 🌡 In Blender / Camera Data, change the Lens Unit to "field of view" to diplay the number in degrees° and copy the "angle of view" of your camera in Afx You may also have to change your "sensor fit" in blender to match the "film size" in Afx hope it helps!

For anyone on Mac who is having the problem with the file not showing: Find the file that you exported from AE, rename it with .json at the end. Now it will show when you try to import it into blender.

brother camera does a great job but when i imprt plane and camera they are in pretty much large scale and i dont know how to make them fit to real world scale to make a 3d set in blender using this data

Also copy focal length of camera in After Effects and past it into appropriate place in settings of camera in blender, otherwise tracking will work bad, as I found in my case

ihave found a sulation-creat null and camara and adjust null orientation{null represents camara} in after effect so it is normal in blender

heey, dont know if you still need it, but you can simply do one more step to ensure the origin is right: after the tracking is done, instead of creating an object and camera in after effects, select the option "define origin and horizontal plane". THEN you can create the camera and the plane object. When you import to blender it will be perfectly on the floor plane :)

Hi, it works perfectly but i have just 1 issue. How can i set the world origin? I do the track in AE, i import it to blender and all that, easy, but in Blender the camera and the plane gets off from the world origin and everything its rotated, so if i want to add objects i have to match everything to the orientation of the plane, or parent everything to a null and try to aline it by eye to the world origin, but obviusly it doesnt get perfectly alined so it looks a bit off

hello, this is a great video, and it looks like an amazing alternative to ae2blend plugin. Although I've downloaded all the scripts correctly but when I try to bring the comp into blender from after effects, the file seem to not be "readable". I'm sure it's on my end from the positive feedback of the video. The entire video is straight forward but when I save the file to extract it and import it into blend the file is just not there. If anyone knows how to fix this that would mean so much to me. Also, I don't know if it matters but I have a MacBook so idk I’m just always worried there's some type of issue with the cross over lol.

For that I believe you go to the compositor and add an alpha over node between your render node and output node. Plug the render into the bottom, and import a movie clip node of your footage to plug into the top. Make sure transparent is also enabled under the film tab of your render settings!
