It’s official! After months of speculation, IndiGo has finally announced a widebody order and has gone for the Airbus A350. The low-cost airline is the largest carrier in India, with more than 60% of domestic market share. IndiGo has been eyeing long-haul international routes and first ventured into this side of the market by wet leasing widebody planes and entering codeshare agreements. And so, once these A350s begin to arrive, the carrier can begin operating long-haul services with its own metal.
