I love how Nintendo, a big-time corporation, respects the boundaries of small-time developers and give them a chance to shine without having to buy them out. Case in point; they gave Shovel Knight an amibo without actually owning him.

Sometimes I just wish we could get all game creators in a room and give them a massive round of applause just to show how many people truly love them and their work

TBH I think Shantae And The Seven Sirens should’ve been apart of this, but that’s just me.

12.06.2018 was hollow Knight released on Switch. 17.09. 2020 was Ori will of the wisps released on Switch. Sadly Hollow Knight silksong comming out maybe 2021. I hope that Ori will of the wisps get the award, it was just so awesome!

Indies are all well and good but where are the 1st Party Nintendo games. I feel Nintendo goes from different extremes each generation. Wii Era had the first party but too many shovel ware, WiiU had very little games in general and mostly first party. Switch had 1st party in the first year but since its mostly indie releases. I mean what happened to some of what was announced at the beginning of Switches life cycle and hasnt shown since like Metroid Prime 4, Bayonetta etc? I feel like after Breath of the wild there hasnt been anything quite like that in terms of big open world titles(and dont say Witcher Ive played that on PC).

I’m so happy that they did this. I especially appreciate that Stardew Valley got such a big spotlight, as it is not only an AMAZING game, but it was developed by a single person, who keeps single handedly releasing incredible content updates that are loaded with new things to see and do! I just have so much respect for Eric Barone and I hope every Switch owner picks up a copy of Stardew Valley! Now if only Nintendo had represented my other favorite indie developer, Team Cherry. Oh well, I’ll take what I can get.

Stardew Valley has one of the few developers who definitely deserve the spotlight. Huge respect for him for still working on big updates (not just bug fixes) for an already big game. Best 15 EUR I spent on Switch (I have/had it on PC before). I love Hades and Ori, but tbh, Stardew Valley will always be the no. 1 in my heart.

So glad Nintendo supports Indie games so much!
