I agree as far as if it’s overspending on the wrong DOF who won’t do well like previous and Ashworth is a bit of a red flag at the moment, but in general, A DOF’ is a totally different situation, they can serve way longer for the club and save way more than 20m per season on purchases and including players bought cheap and developed for a lot more profit later. It would also get the rebuild going now which we know will take a little time so it’s smarter to spend what it takes on this kind of asset. Doing deals with common sense and forward thinking is really what the ethos should be over just strictly not overspending otherwise that’s just as silly as what we’ve been doing for the past decade.

I would like to point out how disorganized Manchester United's leadership and decision-making is. It's ridiculous that every season for the last few years they put off getting top targets until the summer (in order to get a better deal), and then find themselves not being able to acquire their top targets and shelling out last minute massive purchases for players considered alternative targets that always fail to live up to expectations. Additionally, they seem to always move incredibly slowly and telegraph their intentions to the public which allows rivals and the teams they are doing business with to have an upper hand in negotiating strategies. It's simply a failure. We consistently wait and lose our chance to sign the players we want because of poor management.

There is always a positive in every situation. Dan Ashworth being on Gardening Leave actually gives him time to plan everything he will be doing. The same applies for Omar Berrada. Now they have time to think carefully and strategically about everything they're planning to do. It's a positive for us for the long term. Patience is key in building a long term project.

Its setting the precedent that you wont pay ridiculous amounts anymore regardless of how impatient fans are. If they pay £20mil for a DOF before summer we are already telling teams we will pay whatever they ask for, which is what Utd are trying to pull away from. Best option would be to go get Mitchell on a 1year deal as DOF an then wait for Ashworth to be available for nothing.

It is not Ineos but Sir Jim. Ineos owns Nice but is not a co-owner of MUFC. It is Sir Jim. That is why both MUFC and Nice can play in the Champions Leagu if both qualify.
