Takumi driving straight home after winning is one of the funniest moments in this show for me lol

Nakazato might be my favorite race in Initial D. There was no pre-battle drama, no outside threats, genuinely just a dude who wanted to pit his GT-R against Takumi's 86. When he loses, he isn't butthurt, he isn't moody, he isn't whiny; he genuinely is like "damn that kid really is an incredible driver". He flat out concedes that Takumi is just... better than him.

The pairing of Eurobeat and Initial D is simply one of the best scorings for a tv show/movie ever. Initial D would not have half the energy it does without eurobeat and eurobeat would be extremely unknown if it wasn't for Initial D. There is no comparison the the chilling organ that creeps into the battle between Kesuke and the Foot/Hand (cant remember) as they approach the turnaround point and both go for the drift instead of letting the other go first. The music is so integral to the energy and hype of this show, goddamnit its too good.

man this show can remake no matter how many times people still watch it truly a legendary anime

Its been more than 20 years since this show first showed, it still gives me smile and chills watching these scenes. Felt like a kid again

I will say the music that the Initial D Legend has is still pretty good. But when you listen to the classic Eurobeat it's just amazing seeing the cars battle each other downhill while you're bopping your head up and down to the music. Eurobeat just makes the anime 10x better watching and listening to.

Has anyone noticed how at the exit of every corner, keisuke always go just a a tiny bit wider out of the turn compared to takumi. Very small difference but that resulted in keisukes front tires wearing out more compared to takumis.

So back in the Kazaa days I was searching for Japanese music after falling in love with the Two-Mix songs from Gundam Wing, came across some Initial D stuff, burnt the best of it onto a mix cd and just loved it. Still haven't seen much of thew show but the music has had me for a long time.

So many beautiful words to be said and yet, the Eurobeat keeping company for the intense racing amongst 2 racers with their engines roaring through the night with their cars going all out sums all of it with a sparkling excitement that has been brought to the soul. We've all "raged our dreams" inside and maybe even outside of our minds with this anime helping us imagine it.

original series had the sense of speed like no other, and battle stage had best animation for car part only. This series after so many years of original one come no where near

Thank you, those are the real edits, you can barely hear the original music. There are some on youtube where eurobeats screams through the other music and you can't hear the dialogues at all. This is amazing

Idk why but with the newev version of adaptation, they seems to nerf Shingo crash. In the original, Shingo crash leave his car wrecked badly that it lost one of it headlight and brake light, scratch his car pretty badly and even makes his car leaking oil, it just seems more powerfull when he hold his tears after all those shots, realizing what he have done to his car, i havent saw the Battle one but i do knkw the brake light are still intact on that one, while in this one, the car is indeed damage but not much compared to the original. That being said, great editing!

Initial D is one of the most intense things for me man. I remember seeing this when I was young, around when F&F1 came out. I got into cars. I did touge runs. Now going back and watching it makes my eyes water cause it's like damn bro I was kinda there

I've been obsessed with Initial D for just a little over 20 years now. I watched bootlegs of it on VHS. But, when I heard Legend came out and it was all new actors, and no Eurobeat, I was utterly disappointed, and refused to watch it saying I would someday. Seeing this kinda makes me want to watch it now...

The real reason this needed to exist is "I need your love" over the race with shingo. Nothing could capture the frenetic anger that Takumi feels about being hit other than that track

Takumi vs Ryosuke while Beat of the Rising Sun plays in the background is still the best race in the series.

Love first stage the most and probably always will in every aspect, even the animation in the original series is still entertaining to this day IMO. The music choice, the characters and their interactions, it actually felt like there was stakes behind these races, Even just being early races I think all of these races (including the Sil80 race) in first stage are so much more hype then some of the later stuff and still gets me excited to this day. There's very few things I would even bother changing if given the chance, just cause I think his race with Mako and Sayuki should've been a bit closer (I know it can't really be cause it was a cat and mouse chase) and I think despite how much I already love Takumi vs Ryosuke, I think (like many) it should've ended with Takumi losing IMO. Would've added a lot to the build up of his character (especially with Emperor in 2nd Stage) and even just his rematch with Ryosuke and Project D as a whole, it also wasn't a race where Takumi would lose much credibility because of the fact that it was an L to Ryosuke, especially with everyone's reactions to it and how serious it actually got.
