He's really good. Partly due to focus of the ENTIRE basketball work switched to perimeter game though and young players don't know how to play or defend post play. He shows up being tall and a fairly good post player and these untrained players just don't know how to handle him. Hopefully he can carve out a Boban Marjanovic role in the nba and make himself some nice money for a while.

I think for edey to be successful in the nba is if he proves that he can atleast move his feet in the perimeter when being switched out there. Hes mobility on defense is the key for him in the nba.

There are two discussion that intertwine and confuse the issue. Is he a dominant college player who will succeed at college level? Absolutely and 100% yes. Will that dominance, will his type of basketball translate into today's NBA game? That is debatable. You can compare Edey with Boban Marjanovic. Same height, similar skill set. Marjanovic was an amazing finisher around the rim shooting an insane percentage. His lack of footspeed and agility made him a liability on defense and limited his usefulness to teams. That could well be the fate of Edey.

I've watched Purdue play 4 games last 2 years. I been watching NBA for 25 years. Edey will never see meaningful minutes in the NBA. He might bounce around but never play real minutes.

He gets easy buckets on give backs, and he's good about tricking his defender on what his post angle is actually going to be in the play. He plays in a style that doesn't work if you're playing with parity. NBA Zach Edey has to much work harder than Purdue Edey
