There's a review of this camera against the GP12 from someone who used it to mountain bike, the Ace Pro was the winner, but nice try. I have Sony, GoPro, DJI and Insta360 so I'm not bias, every camera has it's pros, sorry, from the looks of this camera, I'm voting for Ace Pro.

Go pro is 10 bit, insta 360 8 bit. Something to consider when purchasing an action camera. Go pro is more cinematic, initially the 360 looks better because of the sensor. For editing I would use go pro

Yep you are right. She didn't mention the voice control option in the GoPro as well. And she forgot the LOG feature on GoPro where we can adjust the highlights and shadows.. She is biased, she is being paid for it and also other youtubers who compare GoPro with ace pro all are paid by insta 360😂

Insta360 and OSMO action camera are better than GoPRo. I mean 5x better, no heating, Longer battery backup, better low light imaging.

Does the pre-record chew up battery life? I'm assuming that's it's recording silently with those features. The pause function is something the other competitors should have had long ago, it was a feature that was asked over and over again and sad the only company that listened is Insta360.

In Pre-Record (Insta/DJI) or Hindsight (GoPro), the cams are constantly recording, but dumping off the data beyond 30 seconds from the buffer (assuming you have it set to 30sec). When you then hit record, it appends the last 30 seconds of video to the beginning of file. So yes, it will chew up batteries. Ideally, you want to have the cam externally powered if you are going to use them this way. For instance, I have a modest kayak fishing channel. My GoPro 12s are externally powered with a 20aH battery box. I keep the cams running in Hindsight and paired to a remote. When I catch a fish, I discretely hit the record button as soon as I can and never miss a hookset. It's a GREAT feature and is very useful, but it is kinda "niche". Not a whole lot of people have a need for it.

it is a shame gopro cannot overlay garmin gps/cycling stats. very easy to do with insta360. that is where i am stuck, can't decide which one to get

There are 3rd party apps that can overlay .gpx file data over video using graphs, speedometers, incline levels etc. There are a few UKposts videos which show you what app is needed and how to do it.

I hate to break it to you, GoPros are made and assembled in China lol Designed in the US but 'made' in China as to most electronics these days. Also, before you knock down this company, do a search on the company history. You do realized that Insta360 partnered with Leica and why this camera's quality shines due to the Leica engineered lens not to mention you're great american NASA used the Insta360 Pro on the mars lander and winning an Emmy and used insta360 again to live stream via mission control for the Rover.

It's funny how everyone would sacrifice quality of video for features like "flip" screen or no removable cover lol. If GoPro came out with a flip screen all the fanboys would be like wow oouuu aahhhh great idea and let's not forget, GoPro also had their share of non removable lens models and they still sold like hotcakes, I know, I use to sell them lol. I find it very odd that a lot of people are over looking these very innovative features not to mention the superior quality in so many areas against these minor not really huge issues imo. I do alot of 'extreme' type sports and never once have I broken a lens cover. I either have a housing on mine or use a ND UV filter which I would use for this Ace Pro if I got one, problem solved. I just got note that Insta360 is offering free lens cover replacement/repair under the warranty umbrella. As for the flip up screen, Insta360 is targeting ALL audience especially the social media community for Vlogging and let's be honest, more and more users are using action cams for vlogging. So basically people would love to see these features but when a company listens and add these features the same people will condemn them for doing it LOL

I am not sure, but I guess that kind of image level will be gotten once the company releases a special update to be downloaded, or incorporated, in the future. So, probably now these cameras are sold not ready yet for 8K.

There's a few reviews with the 8K, it's not a huge feature as this camera is quite young in it's release but I suspect they will focus on this feature in future upgrades, the hardware is there but I don't think they are really pushing it because tbh, 8K is not huge right now cause not a lot of things can view 8K but I would bet that Insta360 is laying this dormant for the time being. From what I've seen in other reviews, the 8K sensor does play a part in recording via the 2x no loss zoom. Again, the hardware is there ;)

Get a UV ND filter, it's $10, how much is the replacement GP12 cover? $25 here in Canada, keep paying into GoPro's big pockets lol Not a valid reason to discredit this camera when there are so many other features that out shine it's competitor. GoPro 8 didn't have a removable screen protector either and yet it sold like hotcakes.

The conclusion is.... SAMSUNG > iphone.
