Knee to the solar plexus or sternum. Wow. Never seen that one before. If that's such a weak spot, why don't more boxing matches end with a punch to that area?

@@tarico4436 my guess would be (1) punching the sternum with a padded glove may not be as lethal as slamming into it with a knee bone and (2) the sternum is actually where the boxers hold up their guard, making it pretty much a tough spot to hit with a good punch. But what do I know ? I'm just a guy in the comments.

@@Thumperoo Both sound plausible. It's just weird for as many boxing matches I've seen over the decades that here's a whole new way to floor someone.

I used to do boxing when younger. A few things to remember: 1) when in a boxing stance you aren't square on. You are side on so it is harder to get a clean punch to soloplexus 2) it is really effective against untrained people - but boxers train by getting hit there often, training abs and making sure they don't take deep breaths (it does more damage when you have full lungs).. there are areas that it is harder to train to get hit (liver area, head, chin) 3) as mentioned earlier it is hard to get through the guard for that area - especially with big gloves
