You could convince the government to create a law that says: "Every movie that has mental health advice in it will pay 10% less taxes". This 10% Tax reduction motivates movie studios to make movies with mental health advice because they want to pay less taxes/ earn more money. How would this help improve mental health in india? Answer: Humans are a very social animal and that means people copy behaviours of the people around them. Especially young people copy what actors are doing because they seem successful. The goal of the 10% tax reduction is to change the culture so that the subject MH becomes more interesting and relevant to the society. In other words the goal is to create an army of people who teach MH info(like you) and another army of people who are more receptive/willing to learn MH info.

@conditionednarrator7126 this seems like a great idea to me. Imo, movies and songs are a great and effective medium to educate/influence people. But i do think that things can go down easily if not done in the right way. If the goal of the studios is to "pay less taxes/earn more money", then i feel like they would be doing it for the sake of it which CAN easily lead to the spread of misinformation about MH. Idk, maybe i'm just being cynical. Anyway, loved your comment!!!

@@thoongumoonjisawake Loved the original comment but I also understand your concern whose only solution I can think of rn is: Peer-reviewing movies and entertainment mediums that claim to represent truth without fiction/ dramatization...but again this will kill the cinema as you see it thrives on creativity. So rather than focusing on MH advice part, movies on MH awareness should be promoted like 'Honourable PM encouraging audiences to watch a MH movie relevant today', or 'Teaching kids Mental hygiene in schools along with career counseling'. If you see there is mandatory first-aid kit information provided to students in almost all schools the result of which is though every household may not have a first-aid kit they surely know what is holds...CAN WE CREATE MENTAL HEALTH FIRST-AID KIT where the youth will be aware of what steps to take or whom to go to in case of MH crisis ✨
