They did that because earlier models were destroying their glass in the hatch when you slam them which is why they used the power pulldown

This is literally my uncles car. He brought me to tears one night. I was about 12. We got on the highway from lindbergh lake, to seeley lake mt. Some serious curves. Most of the 45mph turns we were doing well over 100. He has side pipes and t tops. I was scared af. But that old car hung on. I was glad when the ride was over.

I had an 84 Z-28. Silver with black interior, gray wheels. Not much power compared to cars of today. But it was a sexy looking car. And so much fun to drive.

These cars....a good mechanic didn't give a damn about the power it came with because its easy enough to add power onto these better made chassis of the past, blowers, turbos....and etc... these new cars you practically have to pull the engine out if they need sparkplugs for Christ sake smh

The 350 made so much torque that manuel couldn't handle it. The automatic had torque converters.

my buddy had the last year of this. Special edition. corvette package. 91-92. deep blue two tone. he flipped it end over end at 120mph. no seat belts w t tops off. the centrifugal force kept him and friend in seats. both suffered broken spines and legs. halo casts etc. dumb fawks. so lucky. take care of yourself and your classics folks.

I'll never forget the first IROC I ever saw was a white convertible driven by Chicago Pro footballer Dan Hampton. Stopped at my family's store for gas and directions. I remember my dad being so happy to meet Mr Hampton who was a very nice man.

I remember going to the dealership with my cousin....... After looking at the car and everything he couldn't afford it. So the dealership told him to just buy the regular model and they'll put the IROC sign on the side... Lol

❤😮😊 that car in 1988 went between 13 and 18 thousand dollars. Not too bad and to me they are better made than what I hear about cars today. Boy nothing but problems don't people think anymore before they make something and put it in production for people that have after nothing but problems. Thank you! People gotta go back to the thinking school and make things like they used to not to have problems all the time thank you.

I had a white '89 IROC-Z28 in the late '90s. Absolutely loved that car. Spent more in performance parts than I did buying the car. Lost it to a head on collision and gained a scar. I miss that car.

Before my grandfather died he wanted us to get this navy blue iroc z28 he had found and work on it with my uncles I ended up getting a 2011 Lexus ls460 loved it and wanted to show it to him and show him I’m ready for the iroc but he caught covid that sped up his lung cancer somehow (we never knew he had it) and he died before I could even call him …I see these cars a bit different now wiping a tear maybe I’ll get one maybe not but seeing them always remind me of him now

In 1984 got a Z28 for the wife , on mother's day. It was her 1st new car . My son was 4 years old then and loved riding around with the T tops out .

Damn this brings back bad memories A good friend had a 92 "dark teal blue metallic" RS that was totalled head on... it wasnt quite this cherry but it was in phenomenal shape for its age in early 2000s so approximately 10 years old at the time. It wasnt an RS under the hood though because he was a gear head. Definitely surprised a lot of people when racing

When I was a kid we had a blue one with the T-top. I remember those handles for the door perfectly. As for the trunk shutting for you after you get it so far, ours did not do that it was an older model.
