I know everyone is memeing about the SDR video, but this thing works well. Watching 4K non-HDR context on UKposts is really amazing, especially sunset/dusk shots in videos where you wouldn't expect it. Really great stuff here.

Nvidia can we please get an updated GUI for the Nvidia control panel that is smooth? A Metro inspired theme would be very nice and if you could make it with different themes and custom ones that can be created and used by the community that would be nice too! Also as someone else mentioned a video player designed to use all the great features as i would love to have something like that and then use SmoothVideo Project for 60fps+

Honestly, I'm loving it. I just keep it turned on now. OLED really does wonders even for AI tonemapping.

Works great on my oled. Adding this as a toggle for all games would be amazing. Not just SDR ones, there’re a few HDR games, RDR2, where auto would be better.

0:57 if you pause on the landscape example you can see there is an artificial block that adds blur to this area which gets removed in the next zoomed in example 🤣

Wait. When I use the Oculus Quest with the Link cable it uses my rtx card to encode the game and stream it to my quest. Does VSR also enhance the encoding for the Quest Link?

I just tested it, wow it works amazing on my OLED monitor. I keep turning the effect on/off to admire the difference. SDR is so dull in comparison to HDR

I can't get over how much better shiny things look. I don't like the concept but it looks good.

Tried it out for 2 hours now the difference is not mindblowing like everyone expects from a simple feature release but it is 100% an improvement in any video. Zero reason to not use super resolution and rtx hdr when watching any content honestly. And seeming companies are so scummy with releasing 4k hdr content this really helps out us people with 4k hdr monitor.

For those who feel that you missing out on HDR. Let me tell you, not everyone is comfortable with HDR. It's more straining to the eyes for some people. Just watch IMAX and compare it to regular movies, for me IMAX really nice to look at for short period of time, but looking at it for too long hurt my eyes. I've also tried HDR samsung g8 oled, same result. So for games I still prefer SDR

I want to see DLSS 4 use frame generation as a buffer for frames that don't meet a target fps. Such as setting a target for 120 fps but you're only able to natively get 90 fps, so frame gen dynamically fills those missing frames to meet a total of 120fps. By doing that you'd reduce latency in situations where you're above 60 fps natively but aiming for 120 fps.

It would be cool if you guys could take the reigns from windows HDR and just fix PC HDR altogether. Anything without a native HDR signal can be converted from SDR in the driver. You can even incorporate other things, filter overlays, frame interpolation, everything. Make it part of GeForce overlay. Auto-toggle certain settings on a desktop/per app basis. Everything around HDR on windows is a mess and yall can fix it.

My favorite part is I'm running this on an OLED and turning the HDR feature on/off, following their examples of how bad dark scenes in SDR look. I am definitely not getting the improved visibility they're talking about. All it does is turn the blacks into greys. It feels like what it's doing is running at 10% of what I expected. Some very minor color volume increase, with the most prominent change being the increased brightness of white areas. Need an option to dial it up.

So can I watch Models from, 'the Price is Right' recorded during the 80s and 90s, in higher resolution than what a VCR reproduces?

0:18 to 0:28 - this is how nvidia gamestream does too when streaming "hdr" to the shield tv - it just over brightens it. this would have been great for gamestream before nvidia decides to kill it.

I HIGHLY doubt that dark scene in the COD example is realistic. In the "SDR" video example most of the areas are completely clipped without detail, it cannot make up so much exact detail from nothing. That example is just ridiculous, too obviously showing it's all edited.

This is rather fishy. No way you can extract that kind of shadow detail shown in the "after" portion of the CoD footage out of a video that looks like the "before" one. There's no hidden detail there to work with, it's solid black (well, dark grey) and generally very bad posterization (as shadow areas tend to be in highly compressed digital video). I strongly suspect the footage was made the other way around, with the "after" part as the source and the "before" as a result after processing it to look kinda like low quality SDR stream.

Edit: I'm pretty sure that Firefox still doesn't support HDR so nevermind I guess. I really wish that Firefox was supported and that RTX video enhancement wasn't only for chromium based browsers. Just compared a twitch stream on my OLED and IPS monitor on Chrome and Firefox and the super resolution kind of even helps a bit with Twitch's low bitrate. AV1 seems to be coming to Twitch soon though.

I tried RTX HDR. It shifts colors way too much, it doesn't just affect brightness. Not sure why they went that way, but it's only suitable for casual content watching.

It's not working properly. After I update Geforce Experience my HDR stopped to work. I desactivate the windows HDR because they say that it has to been turn off. But the HDR of this new drive is not good

this video is not actual any more, because after all settings and use right browser. all sdr video in the browser are looks really native hdr, and that's incredible. however i'd like to see comparison... i mean more comparison videos, that's will show native hdr behind rtx video hdr converted from sdr... without this type of comparison we can not really know how incredible is that. but in any way. this is absolutely cool thing, i just still not believe how good is that. but please. make some detail video of sdr converted by rtx and native hdr. like some high quality movie that shoot in hdr and can be showed in sdr, hdr, and rtx sdr converted to hdr... do it!!!
