Network Fundamentals Part 1: Introduction to Networking
Interested in learning about networking? Let Network Direction help you get started.
This video is for people that are first starting out in networking. All you need to bring is interest and enthusiasm.
My goal of the network Fundamental Series is to help anyone wanting to get into the IT field learn more about Networking.
We will introduce you to the terminology used in the field and help you understand what it means. For instance, have you heard of protocols? We’re going to see what these are, and use the #Ethernet protocol as an example.
In Part 1 we'll also look at what a network actually is, and continue by seeing how devices are connected. Have you ever connected a device over Wi-Fi or plugged in Network Cables to a computer? Delve behind the scenes and find out how this works.
For further study, I reccommend (affiliate):
CCENT/CCNA ICND1 100-105 Official Cert Guide
click.linksynergy.com/link?id...
Stay tuned for part 2 where we'll go deeper into cabling, and learn the basics of addressing.
Each section includes a quiz to get you thinking. The answers to the quizzes in this video are found at:
networkdirection.net/labsandq...

16, very good grades in school. I realised not so long ago i actually don't like school and i won't fit in any job. Quit my main hobby (gaming) and besides school i started learning about networking and ethical hacking. Hopefully, this will be my career. Thanks for the video! EDIT 9.11.2023 (aprox 3 years later): Well seems like l was right. I'm in uni now and l also work as a pentester. Looking back, this was a long journey. To think this video was my first interaction with something from this domain is extremely nostalgic.

That is very very smart. I'm 26 and just started to get back into this because gaming has gotten very boring. If you find this stuff interesting look into raspberry pi's, you can do a lot of networking and other hardware related projects. I actually use them for my job as an electronics engineer more than a multimeter.

I've watched a few videos of this series so far. Exceptionally good for the beginner. Before this, my research results said to start with the Network+ course, so I tried some UKposts videos for that, and I had no idea what was going on. It definitely wasn't watchable for complete beginners unless you did tons of learning from elsewhere at the same time. Your videos are so much better.

As someone that just retired from physical security, I've decided to transition into digital/cyber security (where as Networking is the first real step). I found your video concise and easy to follow, and look forward to watching a video a day until I finish this play list, then watching it through at least one other time before checking out other video tutorials to get a varied approach. Thanks for your good work.

Note: We have human readable and computer readable language. 1-Human readable is whatever we speak. 2-Computer readable is 0s and 1s. There is always a translator between us humans and computers that help us understanding each other by translating our language to machines and machine's language to us.
