I have the R3 version and don't know what the difference is between the R2 version and don't see any "sketches" that list the R3 version so guess I could use the ones you used (R2).

I just stumbled across this video and was surprised to see this ESP8266 board. I am using the ESP 8266 to operate my 1950 model train. I just completed a big test run here (ukposts.info/have/v-deo/hV11f3xtba6Xr5s.htmlsi=GaNiIf7BdjGOO4Au) but i have a problem, My smoke fan logic needs to be triggered if the motor is running in either direction. Since I am using the Wemos WiFi i need to trigger the Puff Circuit when the motor is on. Can you explain how to read the motor state and create the logic to fire a relay. It only needs 3.3 volts so closing a IO Pin to ground when motor is running would be perfect. What do think. Dennis
