@@AXharoth It wasn't so much a boxing match but a clash between two martial arts. Kicking and other low maneuvers were fine and dandy there until things started going slightly south for Twister, it became a boxing match mid-fight.

Haha, it's also important to remember that this is a movie. What you said about spiritual and mental health only applies to some martial artists. whether it's Western or Eastern. Note that boxing is also a martial art. But yeah, Chinese martial arts are oozing with pretentiousness and conceit for the most part. The Shaolin are pretty great though. No one can contest that. That said, they are also a Buddhist religious order, so that plays a large part in who they are.

My brother and I spar with Wing Chun; he is much better than I am. I am aggressive and throw my momentum into the fight, and he almost effortlessly is able to redirect my momentum into his own attacks. As I attack harder he hits harder because the defensive aspect of Wing Chun can direct the offensive of your opponent back at themselves. It's quite interesting, and I have a bit to learn still when it comes to this.

I don't really care to argue it, but I'll just put this out there; I spar with guys who weigh fifty pounds more than I do, I use Wing Chun, I have the upper hand over half the time. It seems to work for me, I don't know why that is, since I've been told by lots of people that it does not work. I've also been told that Wing Chun doesn't have anything for grappling and ground work, but Chi Sao translates from the hands to the legs for me. I've only ever trained Wing Chun, so I don't know what explanation to give, but it works for me.
