As well articulated as Obama is he fails to outline the penalties to Iran if they violate the agreement. Violate is what Iran will do on day one given their history with UN inspections. Now Iran wants UN sanctions to be lifted day one, which would be difficult to reimpose given Russia. This is indeed a bad deal and Obama is foolish if he believes these rug merchants will keep their word.

Don't be confused, I am not defending that position as in anyone's best interest, but I am saying it is a political reality- which is why this deal is so valuable... because it provides an alternative to the assumption we must fight Iran to prevent them from obtaining nuclear weapons.

As a non american, im irish, im glad a rational man is president of tbe usa. He is obviously seeking to do it another way and he may just succeed. The republicians i feel are insincerly using israel as a power play. Netenyahu cannot change but i dont blame him either he is a product of 50 years of conflict in mentality and a strong leader but this undermining of the president is just breathtaking. I like the fact that Obama mentioned we will keep certain sanctions in place due to ICBMs. Netanyahu stated in an interview on CNN that the Iran deal did not cover this topic. Clearly this interview contradicts Netanyahu's statements and highlights his lack of understanding about the Nuclear deal.

How old is america? the last time Iran was aggressive to its neighbors was first half of the 18th Century, under the reign of Nadir Shah(king) (1688-1747). Its perfectly fine that you don't share the same views as the Persian people, hell we as american's don't all agree on basic moral values. Eldar Moore according to UN there is no evidence Iran supports "proxy's war in Yemen. secondly i'm aware of what's going in the middle east, considering I work for amnesty international. LMAO so what it support Hizballah? was it not my government who support al-qaeda later became daesh(isis) but here's the biggest distinguish between al-qaeda most of whom were foreigners(not afghans while Hizballah are supported by Lebanese people. Do i agree with what happened in 2006? no of course i don't but to say that the capture of two Israeli soldiers is equivalent to the killing of 1,000 civilians is disgusting. Israeli forces had committed indiscriminate and disproportionate attacks, including the use of cluster bombs in civilian areas. We found that Israeli forces also appear to have carried out direct attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure, seemingly to pursue a strategy intended to punish Lebanon for not turning against Hizballah. War crimes were committed by all parties, and civilians bearing the brunt of casualties but without a doubt Israel indiscriminate and disproportionate attacks cannot compare to Hizballah.

This interview reminded me just how intelligent he is. I deeply admire that in a person, let alone a president. He point of view is so nuanced. It's not the typical black and white stuff one expects out of a politician, and so I think he will go down as a great president once all is said and done.

The president seems very thoughtful, patient, rational, articulate, intelligent and pragmatic when trying to solve large complex foreign and domestic issues. This is one of his best qualities. However, when it comes to race issues, he seems to approach it with a different manner. He seems, biased, emotional, irrational, and quick to jump to conclusion. Whenever there's a black person death or arrest in the news, he would immediately speak out and jump to conclusion. I believe that's his weakness and makes him very divisive to the American people.

The fetwa by Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Khameani, against acquiring a nuclear weapon should not be taken too seriously. According to Islamic jurisprudence, a fetwa is only an opinion. It is non binding. In order for it to become binding it must survive a challenge from an opposing fetwa. This is done through debate. No opposing fetwa has yet been issued, and, consequently, no debate over the question has taken place. This means that the current fetwa by the supreme leader can be unseated by an opposing fetwa issued by his successor.

One thing Obama has said that is true. He has said that the Iranians will not build a nuc on his watch. Well given that he has cleared the way for the Iranians to do it, it still will take several years for them to do so, so whilst he has facilitated it, it will not take place on his watch because he will be out in the next 18 months. I think this is a historic interview and 30 years later people would thank Obama for postponing a World War. Iran is a lone country in a region full of enemies who are richer and are more militarily powerful. Leadership is defined not by how to talk to people like you but in engaging people different from you. Economic prosperity can cure Iran's historical hangups more than bombing would. Barack and Michelle are a global superpower duo. They both are two true visionaries who think outside the box and focus on others. I want to watch the two of them together every day.
