the emperors children and word bearers are the worst by far. the iron warriors will work you to death. after readingf the word bearers omnibus the last thing anyone wants is to meet a word bearer.

Tzeentch's bullshit aside, the Thousand Sons also don't necessarily sound too bad. Ahriman's entire goal is finding a way to free his Rubric brothers and take vengeance on the Chaos Gods, and the Thousand Sons' Freudian Excuse was the Burning of Prospero, which shows they are (or at least used to be) the most compassionate of the Traitor Legions. Compared to what Horus, Fulgrim, Mortarion, Konrad, Perturabo and Lorgar have done, Magnus and his sons seem very much uninterested in the typical debauchery of Chaos.

Honestly, Iron Warriors are barely a traitor legion; they're called that because there's no room for a third side in the Imperium/Chaos conflict. If Perterabo hadn't been such an angsty boi and got a pat on the back every once in a while, he never would've gone over, and even when he did, it was by the slightest of margins and honestly it was more than he was frustrated and just done with how the Imperium was conducting itself. Speaks volumes that even though they're technically Chaos, they despise the Chaos Gods and amputate any part of their bodies that show signs of Warp corruption, replacing it with mechanical parts.

I wouldn't say that kneeling is a sign of weakness. Not by a long shot. It's a sign of respect and fealty far more than a sign of weakness.

To be fair to the commander, he didn't kneel out of fear or cowardice. He knelt because he felt defying the Iron Warriors was pointless and would leave the people vulnerable even if they won. He was agreeing to embrace the Iron Warriors' creed and ways so he could better protect the planet.

The tip off that was missed by the CO, "Weakness is a choice" thus, by chosing to kneel, to surrender, you are showing weakness by subservience. You show strength by refusing to kneel, thus paradoxically, are more likely to survive against those who view subservience as weakness to be destroyed.

@mevenyo the Eldar are defeated, those who knelt to the Iron Warriors where killed for their weakness, those who didn't where either enslaved (If they refused to kneel, but also refused to follow the Iron Warriors) or where recruited (If they refused to kneel, but would follow the Iron Warriors). Hence why you see the CO'S head on a pike, he showed weakness by kneeling and surrendering, while his XO didn't.

The Iron Warriors have a pretty warped (heh) view of strength. They are, ultimately, still the villains. Humility is a strength of its own, and Perturabo, arrogant, prideful prick that he is, could never recognize it, something in inculcated in his sons.

Siguiendo esta lógica, decir que los ángeles del emperador son vulnerables al caos (algo que una persona random ni sabe que es) es más peligroso que dejar que unos pocos planetas se vean perdidos por estas "confusiones"
