I'm confused Huub.. last I knew you were working on your sailboat and putting it for sale in hopes of buying a larger sailboat. You then traveled back home for a visit and now you're in Columbia?? What's your plans

I have been to Colombia about 17 times. Get Bemoka coffee, if possible. Only available in some of Colombia.

Just got a message back from Huub, he said that it was a goal and dream to sail the Caribbean on his own boat. He has completed that journey and on to the next adventure. With is fair. With so much of the world being on land lol

I would think most people in that stunningly beautiful country live out their lives with no risk to themselves whatsoever. Despite having been a UK national since birth 65 years ago I am watching this very keenly to see how it would be to up sticks and go to a place less suffocated by the rat-race and overcast, chilly winters.

Very enjoyable Huub travel vlog. Lots of greenery reminded me of my 2 years in Panama. It looked like the "house" was very well made. It would have been interesting to know where he learned how to construct it and if he had help in doing so. As always, thanks for sharing and thanks for giving us a positive break from the not so positive news of the day.

Like most people here I was puzzled and worried when Huub seemed to suddenly vanish, but then the penny dropped that he wasn't 100% invested in sailing forever - who would be? I believe that Huub had pretty much had enough of living on an unreliable, dreadfully hot, dreadfully uncomfortable old sailing boat, and, like the couple on 'Sailing Good, Bad And Ugly' , Mark and Kristen, has decided to buy himself a bit of land and build a little homestead, just as he did before (in Spain?). I think he's been afloat in a cramped, tiny home (where he can't stand upright), for longer than most humans could tolerate, and is feeling the urge for change and a more stable, traditional home. That's just my analysis of his situation, which naturally is clouded by my own feelings. But living in a tiny, constantly rocking box, unable to go on land without having to go through a bit of a rigmarole would probably get most people down after a few months, not a few years like Huub has withstood. Toilet issues, lack of dry land exercise space, problems getting fresh water, groceries, boat parts etc, plus of course the massive problem of being a young man - inevitably in search of a young woman and the fact that you'd be lucky to find any girl who'd take that on without being very likely to leave after a few weeks, all must become intolerable after a while, and whose mind wouldn't stray to perhaps building a little home in the unbelievably beautiful countryside of Central America, or perhaps on a larger island? Sorry it's such a long answer but it's something I've thought about for a couple of years now!
