what so funny about this whole situation is the public's reaction. The problem I have is that she shouldn't have post it or she shouldn't have gone into such details telling the world their whole conversation, I could've imagine being her son and his friends knows him as "that kid".

I guess you are pretty right on Jacelyn Tay big problem is bringing up such issue to the social media on the other hand the public reaction also proved another issue of the public. Nowadays people has very little room for outliner thinking being put on the social media and is very ready to lay the heat on whoever have such outliner thinking, I do believe there should always be enough room for people to publish their thought on a social platform even if the opinion maybe controversial without drawing too much heat.

I feel one factor is one's upbringing. I was brought up to understand that fighting for the fun of it is wrong. If you want to learn how to fight, go sign up for a martial arts course and be trained and educated properly. Cos they don't just teach you how to fight, they also teach you the proper values. I remember one time when I was in Sec 1 at a friend's house with some others, several of them starting such "friendly" spars that eventually degenerated into all of them targetting the weakest guy in the group. I immediately felt uncomfortable watching it and told them that the "friendly" sparring was enough and should stop. After that, I told that guy that we should stop hanging out with the rest as they were bullying him. We found new friends and by the time 'O' levels came around, we were proved right cos all of us got fairly good results, while almost all of that "bullying" group dropped out of school. My friend, if you're curious, eventually got a PhD.

I was bullied a lot in primary school and some in secondary school as well. I kept everything to myself but I think it would have helped if someone was just there to support me and tell me all of this was temporary and “this too shall pass”.

20:35-22:47 Playing it off seems like a good skill to have for blending in and survival! Ego can affect you emotionally, but other things can too - like people stepping over your boundaries, intentionally attacking you etc. What would work then? It's hard for the bullied to change things when the bullies are the ones that needs to change :(. The bullies need help too. Just don't tie your self-worth to the things that happened to you and consider considering how your words and actions would impact other human being, who's also a human being like you.

Just be frank, sex is an activity which is used by adults for producing babies when they’re ready to be responsible for a child. Compare sex to food in terms of temporary feel good, would be best for a child to understand and tell them to always use protection when they do it (after they turn adult). People have choices, when you tell someone not to do it, they will do it. Psychology 101

Jacelyn Tay setting her son up to be a beta male by being over-protective and over-religious. Either he does become that way, or completely does a 180 and becomes rebellious in his later years.

bully ? LOL!!!! lai lim bei share with you a true story.... When bullying taking place, teachers and turns a blind eye, and blatantly allow it to happen no punishment or warning meted out to the bully. When the victim stood up, defend himself and snap at the bully, the teacher and the school's disciplinary committee suddenly became so proactive, telling the victim he was wrong making him become a BULLY and the BULLY will start playing victim's card and become the victim in this situation. This made the victim thinks, what have I done wrong ? I'm just defending myself from physical harms enough is enough and now I got all the blame and punishment from doing that ? LOL when I was being beaten or bullied why didn't the school stood up for me ? The victim was me I made that guy eye almost blind by using a pencil. I have never regretted of the decision.

okay so my opinions on bullying (tw: su*cide, self harm) i was bullied almost all my life, from primary 1 to sec 2. couple that with abuse at home, this whole experience has led me down to a very dark path that I am still trying to get out of today (im 20 now). a lot of these bullying instances has led me to attempt suicide and self harm (which i am still trying to stop). because of this whole experience, i still do not know how to communicate with people as I was never taught or never really experienced healthy communication throughout childhood. i agree with a healthy amount of bullying, so that children won't grow up sheltered and get like a culture shock ah. but like there should be a healthy base, which is home. i kena bullied in school just to go home and kena again. so of course kena mental health problems and trauma. bullying in very healthy amounts is good, but also teach the child that there is good in this world so that he/she/they can have a balanced view of the world and not be a pessimist. i hope that teachers, parents and counsellors can advocate for kindness and empathy for one another. a lot of problems would be solved this way.

I'm just gonna say it, being "conservative" or "indoctrinated", doesn't make you more "extreme" with your practices. Being Catholic, you have to accept all the churches teaching, with grace and understanding. How the other denominations came about is because they didn't like what certain teachings and decided to create their own church. You can't pick and choose which aspect of the catholic faith you want to subscribe to and still call yourself "A Catholic". For Daniel and John to portray that it is out of the norm or wrong, as John puts it, puts out a wrong image about Christianity.

I am pretty sure all that advice to jacq’s son would falls on deaf ears once he became aware of his sexuality & explore the topic among his friends. This is how boys are biologically wired… pretend to agree to mommy and but discuss among friends. If his son is gay, imagine the trauma her hardlined talks would have done to him.

in summary i think instead of imposing her own thoughts and beliefs onto a minor (in this case her son), she could have explored his curiosity and thought processes behind the subject

Imo this whole topic is just not age appropriate when the kid is only 8. All the kid needs to know is difference in basic gender anatomy in a scientific manner. This kind of sex education for the children only needs to be done (& in a decent and age appropriate manner) when theyre like 11-13... 8 is just way too young to be going into the nitty gritty of this sort of topic. An 8 year old does not need to learn in depth how sex works. Detailing it that far to an 8 year old is just plain irresponsible. The worst of it is she is exposing such an adult conversation and intimate details with her minor child to the world. 5-10 years down the road her son is gonna hate her for this. Where is the kid's privacy???

you should respect the parent's right to teach her son whatever values she wants to teach. this podcast shouldnt be about your own views on whether premarital sex is ok or not. it should be about the BULLYING that the child may face (since that's the title of your video) we all know what your views on premarital sex are, no need to make a video on it lol?
