The time has come for Mat’s mum to make a decision!
Six months ago Mat treated her to an all-new Tesla Model 3. However, she hasn’t gone fully electric yet - she’s kept hold of her old petrol-powered car just in case she didn’t get on with the Tesla.
Well, the time has come for her to sell one of her cars! With that in mind, Mat’s going to make sure she’s making full use of the Tesla's high-tech features, after which she’ll decide which car she wants to sell. Once she’s made her decision, she’ll use carwow’s Sell My Car tool to sell the car she’s not keeping!

Mat, remember to look at the screen when you go to through a green light. It tells you to either "press the stalk to confirm green light" or "press the accelerator". The reason why it run through one of the green light is either because your mother accidentally pressed the accelerator or it was the car in front that allowed the Tesla to move through.

Basically rn in UK if your car has enhanced AP or FSD the car will go through green light when there's a lead car or when you signal it to go, otherwise when it reaches an intersection it'll stop by default.

@@cenakaze Thanks for the confirmation! Here in the EU we are still not allowed to go through a green light with a lead car, always stalk or accelerator. Great to know you have more freedom in the UK :)

Yes it’s in the owners manual. With a lead car close enough in front it will pass through green lights on its own. Otherwise you need to use the stalk or accelerator to proceed through green.

Yeah, it's really dumb that the non-FSD beta users still have to confirm green lights like this. My FSD beta car can easily detect red/yellow/green lights, so I don't see why they have this limitation still.

Mat's mum is actually one of the recommendations for an EV. I was laughing like crazy, when she after 6 months use had not tried a supercharger, autosteer or any other features. But she actually loves to have everything on the screen and kept the EV.❤❤❤

At green lights, you’d have to - nudge the right stock once or - give a little tap on accelerator to give a confirmation to car that you’re ready to go over the intersection. 🙂 Love you Mat’s mum! ❤️ Please have her more on here. 😬

Very clever and interesting video. When you were talking about damage on the Seat and your Mum was saying it's always been there, it so reminded me of the time I was doing a similar car swap for my sister, "it's always been there ..." - yeah right. Your Mum's face was a picture when she was going autonomous on the motorway. Excellent example of how straightforward it is to sell a car through Car Wow.

@@q3b26 ooh, nasty, bless her. I used to hate asking for help but after a few decades living with ME/CFS I'm not above asking a young person for assistance if necessary. Or if it means there has to be both of us there when we charge then that's how we'll arrange it. Hope you manage to find a way round the problem for your nan.

You have to confirm whether you want to go through green lights by tapping the accelerator or by using the gear shift.

@@deffoboy6934 I think it was because she panicked and tapped the accelerator. You can see that the car recognised the green lights and that there was a red line where the car stopped. That one time where the car continued, the line was green which means that it was confirmed.

A few notes on carwow selling experience, just bear in mind this is a service to sell to dealerships, which they do mention but means you're highly likely to get a lot less than you would by sellign privately. The process is easy enough as described, however I found it strange they don't ask around the spec of the car or any extras that it might have (such as optional equipment, upgraded sound system etc), which I found quite odd; not sure if this changed since I was trying to use their service. Basically if you have a lower specc'd car I think it would be fine, but estimated price is essentially just based on what comes back from dvla wrt your registration, not taking into account alloys, heated seats, sunroof or anything else that might add value to your car. at the core, their business model is to be a competitor to sites like motorway or such, where if you want a quick sell without the hassle then it's ok, bearing in mind you do end up paying for this convenience in the much lower price you're likely to be offered. Add on top the fact that for each "imperfection" with the car, the estimated price also gets lower, so unless you have a "showroom" condition car, you're unlikely to get the estimated price. In the end I went the sell private route and got 3k more than what carwow "priced" the car at.

Your mom continues to be adorable! For the highway autopilot, hitting the turn signal can actually disengage the system. It's actually better to just make sure you lightly jiggle the wheel and don't touch the signal at all, OR pull down on the shifter once. Due to regulations, the UK system doesn't have as many features as in the US, like going through a green light if you're the lead vehicle

5 months ago I passed on a model 3 and I still don't regret it. It would have been delivered this month because of the back order. Now I get a good smile when I see someone stuck in one of these. Best decision I've made in years.
