@@wolfx.2546 Who has he destroyed? Russell in a back of the grid Williams? Norris in an inferior Mclaren? He isn't driving better than Leclerc or Verstappen. RP buying a 2019 Mercedes is the only reason he is getting any decent results this year. Perez is outdriving him in the exact same car. His Azerbaijan podium in 2017 came after Vettel was penalized for ramming into Hamilton during a safety car. Raikkonnen lost positions after a puncture from debris after the Force India's collided. Hamilton was forced to pit for a headrest issue. And Stroll was beaten by Ricciardo who crashed in qualifying and had to pit at Lap 6 to remove debris and Bottas who was sent to the back of the grid and was one lap down at one point. And his second podium only came because Max DNF'd because of an engine problem. Lewis was sent to the back of the grid for a pitting penalty. And then bottling it and losing out to Sainz and Gasly in inferior cars. We've seen him time and again making mistakes when victory or a podium is at hand and either dropping out of podium positions or just crashing out of the race. Does he deserve all the hate he is receiving? Probably not. He has some talent. But to say he is beating out F1's young hopefuls is a stretch of a statement. He is in arguably the second or third best car on the grid this year and has less points than Albon. Albon, who is having a VERY bad year! Junior careers mean nothing in F1.

The problem at the time was the feeling that he was 'skipping the line' so to speak. He went straight from GP3 to F1, skipping GP2 entirely. He's only really coming into his own now, so those seasons in GP2/F2 could have been good and helped iron out some of the mistakes that he's still making.

With regards to pay drivers, I do get that almost all drivers come with financial backing. The argument is against drivers who are bringing family money. Usually drivers need to secure external sponsors, which requires them to perform well or they lose the sponsorship. Family money doesn't usually rely so much on results, so you can keeo paying your way up in spite of subpar performances (as has been demonstrated by the section on his early career). Also, when you have as high backing as he does that his dad can practically buy out the team to secure a seat. Similar criticism were thrown at Stroll, and tbf it was only last year that he really started to look good, and even then wasn't as good as Perez

Why is everyone obsessed with Nico Hulkenburg? Is he likeable? Yes, very. Is he a proven race winner on track to becoming the next world champion? No. He kind of had his chance in F1 and he had a respectable, if not outstanding stint in top flight of motorsport. In my opinion he's too talented to just be an F1 barfly. I'd love to see him take up Australian V8 supercars or even some rally driving. However, he had his time in F1 and now he needs to go do something else.

To everyone in the comments saying it wasn't sexual assault/harassment because she went with him or she was into it, no. Just because someone spends time with you, doesn't mean they give you the consent to touch them. Even if that person goes home with you, isn't a consent to having sex, especially if someone is drunk or intoxicated because they sometimes aren't aware of what they're doing and are just generally in a vulnerable state where you should never take advantage of them. Also, they did not know each other before that which you can clearly see because they only followed each other after that all happened and have contradicting statements with hers saying they were friends and his "apology" being about inappropriate behaviour. The only reason why the girl even said something is probably to do some damage control to his job. She clearly tried to push him away and has since posted a lot of stuff saying how she would change the moment where a drunk person touched her, etc. This is a girl that was not expecting it and didn't know how to react like a lot of victims of sexual assault. Also, just because she was acting like she had fun before that happened isn't an invitation for him to touch her. I can't believe some of the comments I am reading defending him. What he did was never okay, not even if you are friends and should never have been posted in the first place which shows that he sees no problem with it.
