One of the most beautiful times of the year is spring bloom. The trees are filled with flowers and insects, which means the birds aren't far behind. I went out during peak bloom for some bird photography in the orchard with the Sony a7RIV (a7R4) and the 200-600. I take you behind the scenes while I spent a few days photographing and filming birds during this wonderful time.
Although the blooming period lasts around 10-14 days, peak bloom is really only a few days. During this time, many birds and wildlife are using the trees for various reasons. That combined with the wind, factor into the tree losing much of its petals. It's a race against the clock to get in some bird photography with the beautiful scenery.
