I really like Bill's perspective of how the movie ends. It's like everything that's happened that has led up to his death was calculated and planned by him. He WANTED the losers to kill him. He wanted them to win.

Of coarse Bill would be asking if the kids are ok! He's a nice guy, for fuck's sake! Just cos he's playing an evil entity doesn't mean HE'S evil! It always worried him that he might be scaring the kids too much and that he didn't want to scar them for life. On one hand he had to be scary in order to have the kids be afraid of his character, but on the other hand he didn't want to end either movie and have the kids be afraid of him in real life. That'd be too upsetting for him.
