She says she doesn't pay anything but she's pretty much given her life to it and that's quite a huge cost really.

My family knew a lady down the street who was an extreme couponer, and she opened her home to allow a lot of the low income families to get food, toiletries, snacks, and drinks, etc. It really helped us so my parents could pay bills and not have to get as many groceries bc it was always in stock thanks to this sweet lady.

Has anybody noticed the food she saved money on is either processed or ultra-processed? They simply don't make coupons for fruits, vegetables, dried lentils, or dried legumes. Also, correlate that knowledge with the fact that she looks much older than a 24-year-old woman.

Imagine it’s your first day working at that grocery store as a cashier and this is your first customer

she worked for 60 hrs for about $1057... that's less than $18/hr and she's not even paid in $$$, she's paid in sugar, processed food and chemicals. I hope she has medical insurance.

As a former target and Walgreens cashier, I feel the cashiers pain.

With her skills, she can contribute to the world in a much better way!

I really enjoy it when the person donates their haul of enormous amounts of items that a person cannot use within the expiration date. That's heartwarming

Honestly I would love to see someone that does this and donates a large portion to those who need it. It's work but she got 1,000 worth of stuff for 20ish bucks!

I remember this show. It totally ruined it for those of us who really used coupons the right way and just wanted to save some money.

That poor cashier that rang up the 3 carts full of food AND did different transactions. She deserves a raise.

The thing is, she doesn‘t save as much money as she thinks she is. It’s a lot of stuff she wouldn’t normally buy, and just does because she has a coupon for it, that is then rotting in her pantry. I think it’s a mental thing more than anything else at this point.

It’s coupon hoarders like this that has destroyed couponing for the average shopper. Coupons now expire in under a month & you have to buy multiples. Another example of greed ruining things.

I used to look at coupons till I realized they were always for over-priced, overly-processed items. I never saw coupons for meat, vegetables, butter or flour. So she found a coupon for gelatin. What use is gelatin, really?

Nevermind that dumpster diving could easily result in a medical bill that could easily more than negate whatever she could hope to save with coupons. People routinely throw all sorts of incredibly dangerous stuff into them.

I'm all for saving money. The thing is that with this type of saving, you save on products you don't need, like 50 toothpaste. You need toothpaste, but not 50 boxes. I've known the feeling living paycheck to paycheck but i can't understand how she does all that work for mostly things she can't eat. At least, she donates. She helps others when she doesn't have space anymore.

I miss doing the coupon thing. I loved it and had a room full of stuff. I only did it for health, beauty and cleaning products. Stores don’t allow this anymore where I live

Not trying to judge, but couldn't this be considered an organized form of hoarding? I mean when she said to donate or have a neighbor shop, that would be really great. Let's face it no one is going to be using 48 bottles of dish soap, or 128 or so bottles of shampoo, and conditioner, all of those razors etc. Someone who was struggling to make ends meet would probably really, really appreciate anything at all. For someone in a shelter many of those things could be a huge blessing. I know at the end of the day it's hers and she can do whatever she wants with it, but if she doesn't plan on using most of the items rather than collecting dust or being a trophy section of her couponing, someone in need could, and should get some use out of some of the things there before they go bad. Personal care items, detergents, ETC. do have a shelf life. Most of those items if ever they were going to be used that is, would most likely be past their expiration date by the time she got to it. Also, she is only accumulating more, and more at this point. Definitely should give to those in need at some point.

I work retail, have been for 13 years and I have to say I haven't had a paper coupon given to me in the last two years

This lady isn’t shopping/couponing for her household or to donate, she’s doing it because she can and finds a thrill in it. It’s extremely wasteful and quite possibly a mental issue. How many tubes of toothpaste?? Do it because you need it. If she cut down her hours couponing, she could still get what she needs for her family while also contributing to the family income.

She saved about $1000, and in fact she dedicated 60h to that, she effectively earned around $17 per hour. Better than a min wage job. Can this be a consistent effort? At some point having another 100 toothpaste tubes will be less valuable than money.

I have friends who lived in states where you could double and sometimes triple coupons, and they said it was a nightmare when these extreme couponing shows were popular because the extreme couponers would literally clear the shelves of all sale items, without regard to people on a budge trying just to get their families needs met for the week. Rather than take even a dozen items, they'd take all 36 that were just unboxed. So if you wanted to get a couple of boxes of mac and cheese on sale for your kids, you were out of luck because one person took all that was in stock.

If she wasn't couponing, she would be living in a 2-income household. Instead of 60 hours per week spent couponing, she would work 40 hours and spend an additional 20 hours as family time, leisure time, and/or socializing.

The only coupons they really let u use in Arizona are the digital coupons from that store and u can only use it once and one per house

i feel like some of y'all are hating tbh im actually really impressed with her dedication and how much she saved. It is a bit extreme (hence the name) but I'm pretty sure its played up for TV. I doubt she spending 60 hours _a week_ doing this. Realistically she might do this 3 times a year and have a revolving pantry and just go to the store for little things that she runs through quickly

I’m really cheap, but even I weigh the costs. Do I drive a few miles down the road for cheaper gas which will take much more time, or do I get pricier gas right here so I can get home quicker? Many times I’ve gotten the pricier gas and had more valuable time left over.

One thing I’ll never understand watching these is how do these customers have the stores actually pay them when using coupons? Also any coupon I’ve ever seen had a limit of how many uses per customer. So I wish I could understand how this works

she literally has a large amount of the perfect things to have to start a homeless shelter, I really don't understand why she would rather just stock them when she will never be able to use all of these before they expire and imagine how many people she could help with these things especially the diapers.
