This has taken an age to get to this point and I've been following right from the start. Absolutely amazing work guys. Originally thought it was going to be a watered down simplistic version, but this really rocks, and if the drive train can be smooth enough without the higher centre of gravity causing issues, then you may have a real winner. Would be interesting if there was a gimbal in place so if the tracks move up and down over rocky ground, the loader stays level.

Hello hacksmith, i have just been accepted into my college and i am doing a level 3 aeronautical engineering program starting september. I know its a different type of engineering to what your doing but your videos still inspire me. Thank you very much for being so amazing.

I wouldn't be surprised if Elon tried to support them, but it probably won't happen. That being said, the assets that Elon could supply Hacksmith Industries with could allow them to help each other bring about the second enlightenment. It would be revolutionary for both companies and consumers and even bring about even more, faster paced advancements in technology and experimental things like power and transportation and even things that could unite the world as one people.

I think that James Cameron, his entire production team and CAT should all get onboard with this because it’s literally history coming to life and a massive ambitious project that I personally have been dying to see complete.. I think that it’s gonna need a seriously heavy duty hydraulic system to move it though, just coming from experience operating CATs

Every time I see someone weld I think of a story that my grandpa told me. A dude fell asleep whilst welding and the welder got so stuck. They had to cut it loose. Tip: don't sleep at work (this was in the '50s and '60 or so)

Well, in the movie it was a piece of industrial equipment, they were for freight and construction purposes, and they were manufactured by Caterpillar in the movie, so essentially, that's what it is.

Yes, and them standing a chance in battle. Maybe they would have a chance againt early coldwar like a Patton. But a Tiger or even a Panther against a Centurion or an Abrams (or other MBTs of the time) is not even a fight.

Hey hacksmith, i just wanna give you a suggestion for building the next thing which i think is cool. You can build this turbine sort of thing that accelerates underwater. Like a jetpack, but moves underwater. It'll be easier as jetpaks are still a fantasy, but this thing might actually work. i would bet all my money that you can make a really cool workking model.

@@karmathegolden Legs just simply wouldn't work, even with 10 years of development, and it already took them 2 years to make it with treads... What you are asking is just not possible. (yet) Maybe in 15 years, they will make a leg version when the technology gets better. Until then, this is the best you are gonna get.

I can't even imagine. I get the impression it's going to be around 2 tons of steel (maybe more) + the caterpillar. And that's before you even get into the hydraulics.
