My mother being a native American always grew the three sisters way. U dig a hole plant corn,squash, pole beans in same hole.when they came in corn grew tall squash shaded soil and beans grew up the corn and feed the soil around them. Oh,she had us go the river and bring home carp or eels and plant them under the seeds. We had a lot of vegies.let the beans grow up the corn .will not hurt thecorn.

@@carolynchadwick7867 I’ve never heard of 3 sisters way of planting either. I can see it working though. I’m going to try it. I have a fantastic spot to give it a try and if the weather starts getting sideways on me I will throw a tunnel over it. I want to try to tunnel veggies this winter anyway. Thank you! Also? for fish? I use cheap canned tuna. My first grow of corn using tuna was stunning. A3 day hot wind took it down though. If I had planted 3 sisters way I probably would have been fine.

No kidding those little buggers destroyed some of my plants last year (last year I was a first year food gardener) I didn't know any better and squished the first couple I found... don't do that it only attracts more, holy crap more! I finally had learned after about 2 weeks or so that a cup with soapy water and just knock them into the cup and buy buy bug. Took a few days but I had finally got rid of them and didn't have anymore problems with them the rest of the year.

@@mrs.patriot9488 those pests were massive issue in the 1970s we had traps for them then. Green part you put bait in, yellow part they entered and bag hung down the dead bodies fell into. Had them on posts in the yard. Saved our garden, not sure if they still make them. Good luck.

Beans can climb corn, does not hurt. If you plant the 3 sisters way…you plant corn when a foot high plant beans and a squash next to corn in same hole. Beans climb and provide nitrogen, squash smother out weeds. Win win planting

@fredasdaughter
@fredasdaughter 2 роки тому
As I told your dad the Native Americans used to plant corn. After it was up they planted pole beans like you have to climb the corn. The beans provide nitrogen for the corn. There is a third "sister," squash that they also planted with it. Sometimes they used sunflowers instead. Corn needs to be side dressed with compost as it grows up, or at least soil hoed up to keep it upright. Also you need to plant corn in the ground, not in containers like you did. You need at least 100 plants for good pollination. You can get away with less, if you plant in blocks instead of rows. Look up the 3 sisters method of planting so you know I am telling you straight.

It motivates me to do more and get it down so i can get rid of the meds. Do it now while you are younger. Excersize cant hurt.

You have truly inspired me to get up and move. I have been wanting to move more and walk more for my kids. I want them to have me around for a long time and I already have some health issues. You are truly an inspiration.

You are a great Dad!! I'm very excited for you Chad. I've started walking a lot more. Hard for me to walk. I love the outdoirs but I can't be in the sun. It's hard but I'm determined! You have my love and prayers for you and your boys. God bless❤🙏🇺🇸

You do such a great job with those boys. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise! Love the names you give your animals, as it satisfies the nerd in me. :D My cats are named with nerdy/geeky names and most people just roll their eyes at me, ha! Love your vlogs of the "mundane" stuff(according to other people). Your place is how I want to do mine, someday. A little bit of everything. (I'm a gardener, though. When I get land...eventually, sigh. It's so hard to be patient for it to happen.... my gardens will be massive! My happy place.) I applaud you doing this as a single dad. It's still doable for us singles, but it definitely has it's own unique challenges. Can't wait for more videos!

This video from beginning to end had me busting a gut! You crack me up, Chad. One of my favorite things that always, always makes me smile is the sounds you have for each animal such as the 'zoomies' sound you have for Smokey, the 'hey pig, pig, pig" and the beefy boy song. Never fails to make me smile. You are very right - that one huge rooster you have IS stunning. I've thought that every time I see him. The gamer finger strength had me in stitches. Your new home and the property it is on is lovely! You should get some backyard chickens. There's this guy on YT that I watch that has a new backyard chicken coop. I could get you his name and you could ask him about it if you want, lol🤣 (I crack myself up too, sometimes). I think the bar on the wall in your bedroom likely was used to display a wall hanging or a banner/flag or something. It looks like an odd place for it, but we don't know how the previous tenants had their furniture set up in that room. Maybe they had a behemoth dresser with a huge mirror on that wall... I dunno, I'm just guessing. Loved it when you jumped in the puddle and then when you got to the wallow you were like "I'm not going in there... ok, I will". -A big kid at heart. I love it! Chad, you have a great attitude on life, which is very admirable and necessary in the world today. Your boys are going to have great lives because 1) they are loved and they know it, 2) they'll grow up seeing their dad and how hard he works which will instil in them the same work ethic, 3) they are raised in a God loving environment and 4) they will have the support of their dad who will teach them that having a great attitude is key. Thanks for putting such awesome content up on the Tubes! Heather🇨🇦

The bugs on the plants are Japanese Beetles and they will destroy the plants. There are different ways that you can get rid of them naturally. I've even bought garlic spray that hooks up to the garden hose and it worked and you can get it at Lowes or Home Depot but you can use things that you have at home to get rid of them and you also did the right thing when you thumped it off lol. You can shake them off. All the farm animals looking awesome. Hope you and your family have a wonderful and Blessed Day from us in Lexington Alabama

I am so happy for you and your family ! You have a great place ! I understand that your kids are taking a break ! It is good for them to just enjoy their family time and take a break from blogs! I loved it when you jumped into the big puddle ! It reminds me of something Adler would do ! Enjoy life to the fullest, who knows what Tomarrow will bring ! I love how you have set your priorities and are constantly re-evaluating your goals. So happy that you are happy with your life and constantly improving and making changes. At least you have support from your family ! Cherish that bond while you still have it ! :)

Trail running is awesome. Walk - jog - walk - jog. Your lungs will "level up" in no time :) Try holding yoga poses... even 10-15 seconds each. Low impact, high results. 👍
