I love Jack, and the last wave was a really nice one but neither of the turns were his best or that critical, definitely not an excellent score, maybe its just the mid 7 he needed though.

Agreed. I think the 8.3 was a bit high, but I think a 7.5 would have been easily justified. 7.5 would ha e netted the same end result, we just wouldn't have people acting like Jack didn't win that heat (he did).

Today was excellence from Jack, Jordy, JohnJohn, Imaikalani, Samuel, Seth, George & Gabriel , thanks guys, WSL camera crew, & the Antarctic 'Ocean for A great show.. finallllly, in great waves.... (Feb-Mar; superbank was epic ) hope cloudbreak is fullofawesomeness for the men & later.... 8ft & managable for the lighter weight devisions

Deserved win. Judges have clearly been rewarding highly for the a critical finish on the end section (and this is clear in the judging criteria). Also biggest wave of the heat. Good judging imo.

Last wave may be a bit overscored, but not only should it have been higher than the requirement.....he WELL deserved the heat anyway..... No way Imai had that heat at ALL
