It's not necessarily their fault. The controversy over certain decisions made during development led to really low player numbers. The studios probably felt it wasn't worth the effort to update a game that was getting so much hate at release.

I was just chatting about firestorm with some mates yesterday. I still think it is the best battle Royale out there, it's absolutely criminal that most people never saw it because of the high price of entry, and that EA just stopped supporting it after like 2 days.

Know that since quite a few months, some clan called BoB have started hosting their own servers on BFV and BF1. They provide active admins, cheaters are banned within a matter of minutes. That BoB clan single handedly revived the entire BFV/BF1 community, because indeed, I remember until last year, every server I joined (BFV) contained at least 1 cheater, ruining the entire game. You should try it out again, just write "BoB" in your server filter, enough choice.

@@pj47bf there are still cheater on there servers, as i play them only when playing BFv and you still get them but its more people that try and hide it or high lvl accounts that get away with it on there.

#1 reason I abandoned playing BFV. The blatant hacking just destroyed the game in my region. If this works I might go back to it as I never got to play the Pacific.

Not just more vulnerable, it *completely* bypasses any security your computer has. People thinking kernel level access for *anything* is a good thing blows my damn mind.

Yeah I was like "Oh hellll no". I avoided playing Valorant for this exact reason. Don't bring it to Battlefield :(. The easiest thing to do is to bring back servers you can rent with admins monitoring it. Oh hell, fucking hire some people who monitor servers as a full time job. How difficult would it be to pay 3 guys being spectators and ban blatant cheaters? That would trim a ton of them I bet

I'm so disappointed that BFV takes place in WW2 however, theres no Soviet faction. The Soviets played a MASSIVE role in fighting Germany. There's also zero naval warfare. WW2 had massive naval battles and we can't take control of any ship other than little PT boats.

​@@EggZema_ well, that's pretty much the issue with everything. Why buy a car if a thief can steal it and everything in it? If you're defending, it benefits you to have those fortifications.... If you get overrun and the objective is taken, well, sucks, should have been a better defense yourself.... Now, all you can do is hope your team/squad is better at offense. The fortifications can always be blown up by either side. You also get points for building them. I'd say it's detrimental to your team and yourself to not build them in fear that the enemy will use them against you. It's all just a part of the game.

Or you could go play the game and be of some use to teammates, sounds like you should find another game to play like mine craft.

There was a ransomware attack that used Genshin's kernel level anticheat a few years back too. Giving kernel level assess to any program is bad juju.

The kernel anti cheat in Apex had nothing to do with the hack. It was most likely an infected PC, a game client being able to send commands to the game server or a compromised developer account with high level access.

@@deshn21 kernel level access for anything allows you to bypass any kind of security on your system. Couldn't give a trojan, a hacker or the government an easier time to get anything from your computer that they want.

@@deshn21 EA can access whatever they want and inject whatever they want into your computer, by extension the government can too. And all it takes is for one hacker to find out how to use the backdoor for everyone else to be able to. It's a security risk and an intrusion of privacy.

So, someone hacking them means they can get into your stuff too before any other security measures are aware of it. I don't recall 1 being similar to that. People were quite happy with the 4 expansions the game received covering several different fronts. I'm pretty sure people wanted more single player war stories in that game tho

The missions in BF1 will make you tear up and will be a really good lesson in history

BF5 is way better. The graphics, the gun play, especially the sniping. The maps are gorgeous, especially the Pacific Maps. The game is on sale right now on Steam and EA Play. Get it ASAP.

I'm not ok with it, I am well aware of the POTENTIAL problems giving a program kernel level control can have. It's just it's better than nothing, and EA isn't gonna go deleting random files off of your computer. While it has happened before, a bad actor gaining control of a kernal level anti cheat is unlikely, since despite EA being EA, they atleast have some semblance of security being a big company. Not even Easy Anti Cheat has had any incidents I am aware of. @@Niklas2516
