To me this song has more than one meaning to me. I'm a combat vet that has PTSD and has lost my marriage of 12 years over it as well as suffering from multiple mental disorders like depression and anxiety. A lot of run ins with the law and failed relationships. My life has been torn apart. Bridges have been burned and that's ok. To me this reflexes on all that but it also tells me you need to pick up life where you can, and start a new. There are struggles in life that no matter how hard you try it might not work so just let it go. You can only be you and others are going to be others. So just let it go!

A couple of years ago I realized that my marriage was completly broken while listening this song. And though it should make me feel sorry, I felt the little spark in "You'll be You and I'll be me". Clarity, not without emotion. Today I live with my daughters, still not in a relation, but endlessly happy spending my time with the possibly best results this relation could have ever gained.
