Them Italians ain’t never experienced nothing like James and that nonstop pulsing beat and thrashing horns , especially when he played Soul Power , I bet when they went home they had to have a drink and talk about what in the hell did we experience , a black tornado of sound and energy blew through the stage !

I'm Italian, I was 6 in 1971 and I remember very few things. One is the match of the soccer world cup Italy - Brazil, played the previous year, with Pele on the pitch. Another is this fantastic performance. You must know that, in those years, the audience on TV could not move, they could not get up, they could only applaud on command. Then came James Brown.

Paula´s Universe, agree to that. The dancer is Elza Soares, a Brazilian superstar, icon, singer and songwriter "Queen of Samba". So she was not a go go dancer at all. In this video she is 40 yo and a mother of four... Google her and there is a lot about her life and what happened to her. She was awarded "Singer of the Millenium" by BBC. For many yeras she was married to fotboll star Garrincha and they lived in Rome 1970 to 1971 something. So that i maybee an explaination why she is on this TV show. That was indeed very unexpected and a big surprise. She was globally a bigger star than JB himself, but funny thing is that I guess not many people in that TV show, or seeing this video, has any idea about that. Kindá sad really

There will never ever be another James Brown. He has been gone for nearly 20 years, and his impact is still felt. This man put on a hell of a show from day one. And didn't stop for 50+ years.

Talking about performance! Wow! ❤️❤️❤️ He was one of the singers of my generation. In the early 70s there was no dance hall, school dance, or teenage house party without the music of James Brown. It was before Disco music 🎵 💃🏻 and it was dance music, it was doing the bump music, it was getting down music. I watched this particular music video and got goosebumps. RIP James Brown wherever you are and thank you for making so many teenagers dance and for bringing so much happiness to our lives.
