Aikido, like judo, came from jujitsu. Kodenkan jujitsu/judo was a progression. Naming an art doesn't disqualify other arts from using specific techniques.

@@Spiritof_76 Modern judo begins with grabbing each other. However, Aikido does not place emphasis on grasping and performs techniques from a distance.Judo is also used by judicial police agencies,Japanese police agencies use arrest techniques that combine judo, aikido, karate, and kendo.

@@LoovesJf. I'm with you except for the grabbing part. Judo was always about getting close, not just modern judo. I am sure you are aware of the history of judo, aikido, and their jujitsu foundations.

Yeah it is useless. would not work in modern day since you do not see anyone using wristlocks.

@@Katcom111 Someone who practices these arts consistently can implement it "modern day." Every scenario isn't a cage fight, and not every perpetrator is strong or tough. The human body hasn't changed dramatically since the 1940s except for more fat and out of shape people.
