Also historically fighters accepting short notice fight have a lot of success belive it or not. A famous exemple is nate diaz vs conor and geathje vs tony ferguson. And there is many other exemples like that. But we also got masvidal who did better against usman on short notice than when he had a training camp. Full training camp masvidal got easily koed by kamaru, were as on short notice he did a better job of competing throughout the 5 rounds. Same with short notice nate diaz beat conor, but with a full training camp the fight was closer. If you were in the gym and you are in good shape and you accept a fight on short notice, you got the advantage of having a fresh body and and a clear mind and the advantage that your opponent will be overconfident most likely . The only thing that matter the most is how you pace yourself how efficient you are with your cardio and the strategy you use in the fight... Look at khabib vs al, Al was only training for a 3 round fight and he still went the distance vs khabib in a 5 rounder , because he knew how to pace himself in a 5 rounder. Abviously it depends on the fighter and the match up, but short notice isn't necessary bad or good. It's like the falls popular believe that people that miss weight and have a massive advantage because of it wins more often then not, which isn't true at all. Most fighters that miss wight loses most of the time. Volk has no excuses plus he was always open for head kicks remember when max knocked him down with one.

Even if he loses, he will be goat status just for taking on the challenge.Khabib could have been the number one goat forever if he did that but he retired in his prime. No it’s because Islam only trains with Magomed Bagandov now. Give Magomed the credit he deserves. His style is different because he doesn’t train with Javier anymore. Magomed is head coach of Abdulmanap school and the reason Islam has great striking. They also have a Tae Kwon Do coach named Seifulla Magomedov and he is the reason Umar and Usman have great kicking.
