I like Jay Leno a lot more when he's relaxed and casual and off-the-cuff like this than on his show. He really likes and respects cars.

Jay Leno is good mates with the top gear boys, they've had him featured in top gear 4 times. Jay is no douche, he's the worlds biggest petrol-head and for that he deserves utter respect.

I think it's common in true backstage docs... they don't all four hang with each other, and they save the entertaining energy for the show. And rightly so.

Top Gear UK is simply the best. I live in America and I'm not interested in an American version. Hammond,Clarkson and May are the ultimate presenters for Top Gear. Combined with amazing production of the show and brilliant editing, makes Top Gear UK so fantastic to watch!

Semi unrelated, but alot of people seem to dislike jeremy clarkson for no reason. How don't people understand the oafish version of himself on the show is a character, in all of the interviews i've seen of him he's seemed very down to earth.

The Grand Tour is back!! Just saw the first episode last night. I wish the guys would go to California and visit Jay's Garage as a special. It would take up the normal 1.5 hours and more easily.

You know what was missing? A lap and interview by Richard Attenborough just so that when he did a behind-the-scenes video he could say "spared no expense".

Leno was asked about it, but he said that he just didn't think the show would work here due to sponsors' pressure to not outright bash their product. He was right on the nose there. I watched their cop car comparison and noticed that Ford ran a lot of commercials. Can you guess which car "won?"

Sweet!! Can't wait to see this one!! I think its gonna be the last episode of this series. As the star in this weeks show is AC/DC's Brian Johnson. So they've kept Jay Leno for the last show. Though they've already filmed it unlike the week before the show like they do for most stars.

He was afraid that he would not be able to replicate the same feel and rapour with the american public. It's pretty rare to have that kind of coheasion between presenters. Plus i heard the execs at NBC were getting too involved and apparently they know very little about the show.

Thats Jeremy Clarkson mate. He takes the piss of every country in the world, not only the US. For instance im Dutch and he made some (very funny) remarks about my country. Don't take it too serious. We all know and have great respect for American car engineering.

I agree that no other Top Gear can match the UK but I still enjoy watching the version the US does. I just dont compare them and shut up!

If you watch alot of Leno, you'll notice he does that with many guests, even the President. It's like he has a short attention span.

I think the fact that the show is rough around the edjes gives it that special something. Anyone who is offended my Jay's observations obviously doesn't understand sarcasm. I love the show and watch it as often as I can on BBC America. They probably use all the extra money to buy all those expensive cars they abuse. I'm glad they didn't go ahead with the American version even though I'm American. The British sence of humo(u)r and their personalities really make the show what it is.

late night talk show host, he took over for johnny carson on the tonight show up until a few months ago. he's known for his extensive car and motorcycle collection

seinfeld is actually as big a gearhead as leno. he also has the largest porsche collection in the world and just like leno likes to tinker with his cars and actually drive them.

BBC America delays the showing of new Top Gears for months (I'm not sure why), but I believe they will show it eventually.

Nah, that's just the way Jay is. He's a chatter box, if he could physically do so he would spit out 100 jokes in under a minute if he could. Man luvs to talk.... ALOT. Comedians are like that. Robin Williams for example, he's ALL OVER THE PLACE! lol. At least they're down to earth... unlike some other celebrities.

Now their insults are quite hilarious, especially when they fail to acknowledge the quality of British carmakers being matched and exceeded by that of even Japanese and...gasp, America. But overall, it's a good show to watch with a great deal of humor and is always interesting.

@DriftkingS2K I agree, they have got the same script editor for the UK version and the USA version. The blokes name is Richard Porter, and he's absolutely hilarious. Whilst in the USA a couple of years ago I saw a book he wrote called "Crap Cars" and it had 50 of the worst cars made. To read it would make you cry at how funny things are described, and their worst failings. Anyway, Richard Porter is one really funny guy, and it shows on top gear USA.
