At least very close, be what 11500-ish yards and over 100 total TDs and 1.5 super bowl rings each? The Rice twins would get my vote. The whole Rice they probably didn't even vote, I think they considered waiving the 5 year wait for his Bust. Ok I'm kidding on that last part don't Google it lol.

@@airthief36 yup +💯 to barry. If he had a solid line and even a half decent second option he'd own any rushing record he wanted. Opposing coach's knew the only thing the lions could do was run and he'd still have 150-200 yard games. And I've never seen anyone run like him EVER. Backs usually lumber, dance or jet but he never looked like those things - it was like poetry in motion. Like water dripping between your fingers, you can feel it but you can't catch it. Those brilliant silver uniforms gave his movements an ethereal feel, every snap was thunder as the grey clouds parted and a jagged streak of lightning raced down the field. Sitting on the edge of your seat every play wondering what he's gonna do next. I still get goosebumps watching his highlights and I commend him whole heartedly for focusing on his health and retiring early but it will make newer generations look at his stat line and be unimpressed. Thank God for video! Still doesn't give you that "what happens next?" Anticipation though which makes me sad generations won't feel that.

@@Lish44 Montana was heads and shoulders above him. I watched both careers in their entirety, and closely, and I can say that Montana was more clutch & precise. Just a complete technician on the gridiron, and a field general. Young was fantastic, and the fact that he was a lefty that could scramble sensibly, really gave him an All-Pro wrinkle that few other QB' have ever had. What has always bothered me were the constant playoff losses to upstart teams by Young. Sometimes it wasn't all his fault, and he was the victim of poor team management at times as well. But with Steve, with the exception of one season, 94, I never said to myself: "jeeze that playoff win was all because of Steve, he took this Niners team on his shoulders and carried him past a better team." There were just too many bad playoff losses at home, and early exits . . . in many regards Steve's career resembles Peyton Manning's, with Peyton being lucky enough to have one more Super Bowl at the very end of his career. Peyton was the king of "one and dones"...in fact he holds the NFL record for most first round losses with a 1 or 2 seed. Many people conveniently forget that fact when they shout out that Manning is the G.O.A.T., which is just a complete joke.

For all the INSANE numbers that dwarfed so many peers and then those who followed during his career that are, deserve to, or will be rightfully in the Hall of Fame (Irvin, Reed, Monk, Sharpe, Carter, Brown, Moss, T.O., Harrison, Holt, Fitzgerald, Ward, etc.), the thing that stands out for Rice to me is that you could take him AT ANY TIME IN HIS CAREER, and he was a productive player. Very good rookie year as a backup, insane 2nd year...already All Pro leading the league in yards and touchdowns even though Joe Montana missed 1/2 the season and Steve Young was still wallowing away in Tampa Bay. Then, expected to be 3x washed up in Oakland upon arriving at 38, he has 175 catches for 2350 yards and 16 touchdowns (not to mention another 27 for 434 and three TD's in the playoffs) in his year 39 and 40 seasons. AT WIDE RECEIVER. I can never say that enough on any post. The man was a borderline All Pro wide receiver at 40 years old. The go to receiver for a Super Bowl team at 40 years old. I mean, first off, I don't think there are any other receivers that PLAYED UNTIL 40, let alone balled out like that. But for comparison sake, Charlie Joiner retired at 39 after the 1986 season. He put up a very respectable 34 for 440 with 2 TD's in a pass friendly offense with the Chargers and Dan Fouts. Rice at the same age dropped an 83 for 1139 and 9 TD's. Literally had nothing to prove to anyone except Jerry Rice and he went out there and helped my Raiders sustain the return to prominence they had in 2000. Once again, and for the last time, don't compare this man to anyone else. There were plenty of athletes at the position, plenty of guys who could make sizzle plays. Rice could do that too. But ultimately, I don't wanna hear what someone could do, show me what they did. NO ONE, and I MEAN NO ONE, ever did more at any skill position in the history of pro football than Jerry Rice. And frankly it's not even close. There is no CLOSE second. He's the GOAT, irrespective of position, end of story. And even with all these rules designed to benefit pass catchers and the game being much more pass friendly, there's no one even on pace to catch him at a reasonable rate in either passes caught, yards gained, or touchdowns scored. Don't tell me what someone could do, show me what they did. Rice did it all.

"Montana was only good because of Rice." Joe won two Superbowls and was league MVP before Rice came along. "people need to stop overrating Montana already. Dude didn't do jackshit in Kansas" Kansas City didn't make the playoffs the year before Joe came... the first year he came they went 11-5, won the division and went to the AFC Championship game? At this point Joe was nearing 40 years old, and although he continued to play a couple more years he was clearly past his prime. Rice was great. Young was great. Montana was great... bottom line. Montana is nothing but a system QB. Accept it or not IDGAF. He's still from my viewpoint nothing but system QB who was lucky to be on stacked teams that hid his flaws and that really showed and don't give me the age shit because Manning, Brees, Brady, Rodgers all played great in their later years even if they were playing in an Era with rule changes.
