His sponsors care about viewers, the 1.68 million who watch his show every night. If they don't like his content, they don't buy advertising time on his show. He was asked by the network to tone down his trump content, but he didn't tone it down. He knows that he makes a lot of money for the network. His is the second highest earning late night show, just after Stephen Colbert!

If you actually read what Trump said he is talking about the Iron Dome. The Iron Dome is the missile defense system in Israel. Its been known for years that the current missile defense system the US has can not handle current missiles. It would get overwhelmed.
