I mean, the ONE thing that Trump (from an unbiased strategic point of view) did right, is he appointed YOUNG justices to the supreme court, therefore making sure that his hateful influence on the SC is there for decades to come. Of the current SCJ, Sotomayor was the oldest at the day of her appointment with 55 years old.

@@OC-CPA Actually it's more typical of our earnest desire to populate the court with highly accomplished individuals with a thorough knowledge of the Constitution and a desire to apply it fairly, rather than just play nothing but politics. Politics is a necessary evil, not the primary consideration. The real priority is in choosing the best person for the job, and I truly believe Anita Hill would fit the bill both in terms of qualifications and political considerations as well.

The reason the Founders gave Supreme Court Justices lifetime appointments was to keep politics out of the Court. The idea being once they are in, they are not subject to political pressure. The accountability to the people you speak of comes down to who you vote for in Congress and President.

John McCain, nice guy, real. I saw him a couple of times in my town. Once, he was standing outside the ice cream shop, eating an ice cream, looking at the view when I walked by. We looked at each other and he nodded, so did I. He was calm and cool, a good guy.

5:41 I saw a report by Keith Olbermann quite a long time ago where he investigated Trump's claimed wealth and concluded fairly convincingly that Trump was nowhere near as rich as he claimed and was very dependent at the time from the money he made doing that TV show.

My understanding is that 45 has been vastly exaggerating his wealth to get better financing terms, while simultaneously vastly underestimating it for tax purposes, for a very long time. In fact, he tricked Forbes into putting him on their "rich" list, and used that as a basis for the aforementioned, which snowballed into his Presidency.
