I think Steve should stay at Texas they obviously have a great culture there with him and to me they took a huge leap from last season to this season losing to Washington. Texas has there type of culture like a Georgia, LSU, Oregon. It’s gonna fun watching Texas grow these next few years something’s brewing down there with them and got Steve at the top to help.

Kiffin might prove to be the best available if the other playoff coaches are unwilling to take on the unenviable position of succeeding Nick Saban. A great, fast-starting, transitional coach might be better than a generation coach at this point in time.

There are schools that are bigger than the coach and coaches that are bigger than the school. I think people are overestimating the attractiveness of Alabama. This is one of the cases where the coach is bigger than the school.

It might not be a particularly attractive job at this moment for a top national candidate, but not for the reason you've stated. Arguing that the coach is bigger than the school is a crazy take in light of Bear Bryant having also coached for a multiple national championship era at the University of Alabama. Gene Stallings also won a National Championship. He accomplished this within a decade of Bryant's retirement.

Yeah Lanning has it made in Oregon. Phil Knight the owner of Nike is paying for the top recruits. Lanning was told he couldn't bring Nike with him so he backed out. Lol.

There have been times when Oregon and another top school like Michigan would be after the same player but Mr. Knight/Oregon would pay more money to recuit them. Perhaps Lanning didn't want to give that up. Maybe Lanning wanted to bring Knight with him but Bama said no. Lol

Dabo has the coaching chops, but he’s too rigid for today’s NIL and portal system. If he can adapt, as Nick did, he’d be a good fit. If he can’t or won’t, he could find himself in the ACC cellar in a few years.

It's funny how all these shows either don't mention or gloss over Lane Kiffin's name. Greg McElroy even went as far as to say he doesn't believe Kiffin is the guy. Between all this, Lane Kiffin's cryptic words over the last few years and how he's the first to defend Saban or thank him makes me think Greg Byrne put out a gag order of sorts because Kiffin is who they're going to hire. Greg Mc Elroy's choice of words wouldn't violate any such unofficial "gag order" as he just said nope to Kiffin. Whereas Joel Klatt, Josh Pate and many others just don't mention Kiffin at all. Makes you wonder.

Deboer isn't leaving, nobody would be talking him leaving if his interior o-line was able to hold their ground Monday Night and instead talking about how Washington would build off their natty winning season. A James Franklin or Tommy Rees are likely who they get. Yes it's Alabama, but why would anyone run to fill the shoes of the most impactful HC, who's teams were starting to decline? Media isn't thinking straight and instead with headlines. Of course Alabama is going to shoot for the biggest names, but why would the top coaches outside of the SEC throw themselves at Texas and Georgia potentially a combined 3 times a year? Lanning said no for a reason. I expect those 2 to run the SEC for as long as those 2 HCs stay.

So why MUST Sark be the first interview? In 10 seasons of coaching, he’s had one double digit win season. You can say it’s difficult to win 10 games at Washington or that he would’ve gotten things rolling at USC had he not been a drunkard, yet he was a drunkard. And he was stagnant at Washington. And now that he has his first 10-win season at a program where you should be getting 10 wins by year two, he’s worthy of being at the helm of the most prestigious program in the land? I get that Sark is Joel and Collin’s boy, but Lane Kiffin is a much better coaching prospect. Yes, he was given too much responsibility too soon in his career, but he won more games in his second season at USC than Sark did, and his ability to coach Ole Miss to 10 wins says more about his trajectory than the fool’s gold that was Sark’s season this year.

I’ve said it for years that Dabo makes the most sense after Saban for many reasons. He is from Alabama, went to Alabama, played for Alabama, won a national title as a player with Alabama in 1992, became a positional coach for the team for a few seasons after he graduated, and has shown he can win on the big stage, albeit for a different program, with solid talent that the now questionable ACC just doesn’t have anymore. However, with the way that Joel poses the possibility of Kalen DeBoer, I can’t say I’d be upset if he became the next guy either. I love his record and recruiting is EVERYTHING. We’ll see.

I don't think Belichick has the energy to start recruiting. He also hasn't proven that he can win without the best quarterback in football.

Who would be crazy enough to coach Bama? They would be following Saban and if that coach doesn’t get the team in the playoffs by the second year that fan base will want to crucify him. That fan base is out of their minds.

Nick Saban is irreplaceable so why on Earth would an established head coach want that kind of pressure? Alabama is once again trying to replace the greatest coach of all time. They may hit a home run or it may be 20 years before we hear of them again.

Bama job isn't great - they don't have the deep pockets for NIL that other schools have. And without that, its just a school in the deep South that won't be as attractive for other recruits.
