Back in 2000, I and a bunch of friends visited France. We got to see the Bayeux Tapestry. There is a panel depicting the crossing of the English Channel by the Norman troops where the horses are getting off the boat.. (you can actually see this in the Wiki entry for the tapestry).. the horses are smiling apparently happy to be getting off the boat.. my buddy seeing that in real life commented "that's where Monty Python comes from" ... the English depicting the horses smiling..

Well, the inherently privileged 1% often have no life experience beyond always being in charge and always being right, so the only thing they’re really very good at is self confidence and telling everyone else why they’re not. At the moment the most visible example of that in action, in this country anyway, seems to be the Post Office.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail was a movie all my friends and I watched over and over and over and over. I remember once we were riding dirt bikes. My best friend hit a rock hidden in the grass and tumbled head over heels two or three times. I raced to where he was laying, fearing the worst. I threw my motorcycle on the ground and ran to his side. He sat up and was holding his obviously broken arm, staring at it, with tears starting to run down his cheeks. I said, "Oh look, it's only flesh wound". He looked up at me with grass in his hair and dirt on his face and busted out laughing.

I absolutely adore "Life of Brian." IMO this and "A Fish Called Wanda" are the best two works this group ever did.

Seeing John Cleese laugh out is a treasure in itself.

He's merely an overrated outdated comedian, not a constitional expert - and his laughter was the predictable laughter of an ignoramus in historical and constitional affairs.

@@cgo225 I'm usually pro-monarchy but not this time. Charles's title will forever be known as 'The Woke King'. What we have in the monarchy now is a mess. It's my resolute, uncompromising position that everything woke has to be expunged. And I'm afraid I'd even do away with the whole system if it meant we'd radically grab control of the culture and make it traditionalist and right-wing. Either Charles goes or the monarchy goes.

@@organisationxiv2927 I'm anti-woke, but I personally wouldn't remove Charles, I'd be more inclined to refer him to 'anti-woke (aka common sense) awareness sessions'.........however, if Charles continues with a woke monarchy then he could well be our last monarch - in the same way that woke is doing wonders for Bud-lite and Disney, Netflix etc

I nearly died laughing when I watched Monty Python's Flying Circus. My favourite parts were 'No one expects the Spanish Inquisition!' and of course the Argument Clinic sketch.

Cleese is just so much fun. I attended an HR convention eons ago where he was the keynote speaker. He was a riot! Best of all, not only was he funny, but he was interesting, AND, I learned something that I added to my own behavior until I retired - over 25 years later.
