Gradually he got to know people in the know in Moscow building up connections then eventually being so well connected he worked his way up the K.G.B lader before turning to politics after The Soviet Union collapsed in the very early 90's And the rest is history. Having experienced the feeling of having a family member kidnapped, I can't even imagine how Mikel and Diaz could summon the mental strength to go out and play. Even after a kidnapped person is released, the trauma remains. There is always the fear of it happening again which unfortunately did happen to Mikel. It's difficult when your phone rings, and you see the number of your home country, and your first thought is "Oh no. I hope it's not happened again". Hope Diaz's Dad get released soon, and his family get the after care they need.

I remember hearing about Mikel's father being kidnapped, but never knew he got the call before a World Cup game v Argentina. How he played in that game is amazing to hear. But Mikel in 2018 and currently Diaz's Father is a reminder of the lengths evil people will go to extort money off them. I pray he is released ASAP and booth his parents come and live with him in England for however long it takes to recover from trauma of being kidnapped. (Naturally no one ever fully recovers & 100% same after going through such a tramatic experience) This is why personal security has almost become necessary for all high-profile athletes in any sport around the world. Targeting and Kidnapping a players family most horrible evil! Targeting Athlete's home(s) is more common. Dele Alli's Home being broken into and at Knife-Point tied up Dele & his Brother Harry as they took Watches, Jewelry & anything else is a recent high profile in the UK. Dele's girlfriend Ruby Mae ( I think she's some kind of celebrity in UK? Correct me if wrong?). In 2007 in Floridia, USA, 4 men with automatic weapons(I think AK-47), broke into home of Washington Redskins Football🏈player Sean Taylor, when tipped off he had expensive items and wouldnt be home; but had suffered minor injury and went home from Washington DC. He was asleep with his fiancée & their new born baby girl in the bedroom. After waking up from the noiseTaylor grabbed a Machete from under the bed to protect his family, but 1 of 4 men opened fire and through the door a bullet hit Taylor in the femoral artery, leading to a tragedy when he passed away. That night he wasn't a Professional Athlete, he was a new father and engaged, and was a Man who was just trying to protect his new family! As any Person would!! His tragic passing is what all athletes in the US own refrence why they own & some carry a firearm! I was a fan of Obi Mikel at Chelsea but Man United will always be in my heart. The point is, as a football fan, we want our favourite clubs to win and that is why we cheer in joy when the team we support wins and also growl in pain when they lose. To dip so low as to kidnap, blackmails or intimidate is just inhuman. _Dear Humans, please look at yourself in the mirror and ask yourself why YOU are one of those nightmares across the Globe.

Our coach was a useless coward. We were about 7 minutes away from qualifying. You could see our left flank struggling in defence time and time again. We have a ton of subs on the bench. The coach refuses to make a substitution and Argentina scores! That was a tactical loss!
