I remember in middle school jams like this were what made a whole generation feel like hip hop was the what it was all about. If it wasn't for these pioneers hip hop would never blew up. They started the fire that lit the fuse.

Back in 83/84, me and my friends were heavily into electro, but I was the only one who really liked The Jonzun Crew.Pack Jam was about the only JC tune they really liked.They were more into Newcleus, who I really liked too.This, Space is the Place, and We are the jonzun Crew are electro classics!

Dare say if I still had em today they all would have been damaged and worn out as they where since 83. Lol . I just wish they could make em again on cd . @SuperOmnicron I don't know, we used to call it hip-hop. I was only like 13 years old or so, but that's what we called it back then. The term electro-funk might have existed, but nobody really used it.

@turntableable ...it was gathered along with hip-hop, they had no classification for it. Planet Rock's Soul Sonic force wore outfits similar to these, and it appears it was a continuation of Parliament which was funk..they simply attached electronic instruments to it. Strangely enough, Kraftwerk pre-dated this stuff, but were more mechanical in movement - thats why Germany probably lached on to it. (sorry to ramble) I loved it back then, too - great music.

This was so creative, and so much fun back then. Nowadays entertainment is purely about sex and controversy. Back then, you could sit there and watch this with your parents. They wouldn't have liked it, but it wouldn't have embarrassed them either.
