Joost Klein dedicated this song to his father, who died when he was 12 years old due to cancer. His dad taught him that the world has no actual boundaries. His mother died a year later, when he was 13, due to cardiac arrest. Before his dad passed, Joost was already writing all kinds of stuff and promised one day he was going to go to Eurovision. He has gone through so many challenges in life, and it is a true inspiration to see how he deals with them.

Wow this song has so many layers, just like an onion. Every time you peel off one layer, there's another layer with its own story in it. And sometimes when you peel off one layer, you just can't help but weep. I have to admit it's definitely catchy and addictive and with such beautiful lyrics, this song is undoubtedly memorable, impactful and truly deserving of that 12 points.

I'm Dutch, I opened my curtains this morning and this gabber cycled by with his thunderdome bomberjacket and headphones on. I know he was listening to hardcore. I just know. hardcore never died and Joost is gonna help bring it to the rest of Europe :) there's no escape. Buy a tracksuit and some sneakers, you'll soon be one of us XD

Joost Klein was born on 10 November 1997 in Leeuwarden, Friesland and grew up in the nearby village of Britsum. At the age of twelve, he lost his father to cancer. A year later, in 2011, his mother died of a cardiac arrest. Following the death of his parents, Klein was looked after by his older brother and sister. This song is an ode to his father.
