He was nervous!!! 😩😭 he’s amazingly talented BUT he’s always choosing such challenging songs! I remember watching his journey on The Voice Australia and really felt like he was better on there. Idk maybe it’s because his voice matured and now it’s harder to control? I like him a lot and hope he doesn’t let his nerves get the best of him.

I still feel like he's holding back massively. I saw a youtube short of him singing Set Fire to Rain and it was amazing, I'm yet to see him reach that level on the show.

I feel like people overhyped this. This performance was off key and pitchy until the last couple notes. Maybe it sounded different live cuz the judges liked it

Agreed and I think once the judges hear it at playback and not live, they will hear it. Totally not the best of the night.

I've just watched it back 3 times at different volumes, and it was hard to listen to every time. He was off key almost the whole time from what I heard. And I think he is a PHENOMENAL SINGER. But that performance was way off, at least listening through the TV. I felt so bad for him, he knew he was off too. I could never have the courage to do what they do, especially live. He really does have an amazing voice though. ❤

with a touching song choice, started nicely emotional, voice was breaking a little. It sounded good in his voice, mostly. Brought some bigger moments and showed a little lower range. Pretty good.

Some of his tender notes while moving through his vibrato were nice, and so was his belt. It was a sophisticated vocal. He handled the mic bend situation, and it was a solid performance, overall. The slight criticism was the opening; it was a bit rough.

He took a major risk with that song. I wasn't too sure as he was singing it, but in the end I think he survived it and did quite well. Good for him!!

Pure. So pure. I’ve replayed every song he’s performed..so many times. Even this one. Such beautiful, pure delivery. What’s so interesting about being perfect every time? Not sure I understand the obsession with picking people apart.

Lionel believes in him and he was sitting on a gold mine as a person of many songs. That talent was part of his day job......
