The long-awaited showdown between WBC/WBO junior welterweight world champion Jose Ramirez and former world champion and WBC mandatory challenger Viktor “The Iceman” Postol will take place at the MGM Grand Conference Center Saturday, Aug. 29.
Ramirez and Postol were set to fight February in China and May 9 in Fresno, Calif., but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, both were subsequently canceled. This time, they will enter the “Bubble.
Ramirez-Postol will stream live on ESPN+ beginning at 10 p.m ET, with undercard action to stream live at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Can't wait. I think Postol is being overlooked here. If he's still 90% of what he was when he TKO'd Matthysse or even when he barely lost to Josh Taylor, he's got a decent shot here. Very possible. Probably the most likely scenario obviously. I can see post being really competitive early, like he was through 8 rounds vs Josh Taylor. But at 36 years old, he'll probably weaken and won't be able to avoid Ramirez's combinations in the middle / later rounds. If Postol's 80-90% of what he was vs Matthysse, he's got a shot. Lol I was hella disappointed when it was postponed the other 2 times. I like Postol's chances more than the casinos do (4-1 underdog). Viktor Postol is a 4-1 underdog here. How can they discount his chances so much when he fought a nearly even fight vs Josh Taylor. Also, re-watch Ramirez vs Jose Zepeda. The style gave him some issues. Ramirez should win, but if Postol's 36 year old legs and reflexes aren't shot, then he's got a decent chance here. Ramirez by knockout postol hasn’t knocked anyone out in 5 years . He’s older at 36 he’ll come out hard first couple rounds then he’ll fade and Ramirez will take him out .

I would expect Ramirez to stop postol between rounds 7-10. When it comes to Taylor nobody at 140 beats him.
